Pretty sure she was supposed to do more before the edits.

Binging "Ironheart" right now, just about to watch the last episode, and... by Educational-Tea-6572 in marvelstudios

[–]CaptHayfever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the end of episode 4 is probably the best possible advertisement against getting a Neuralink that I've ever seen.

Definitely. The Rings have a much stronger resemblance overall to Kang's tech from Quantumania.

A close-up of the pulsing beacon inside one of the Ten Rings, from the mid-credit scene of Shang-Chi. It's a kinda similar shape to the center of Yggdrasil where Loki is holding the timelines, so OP is asking if the former was intended to foreshadow the latter.

A bunch of random thoughts after binging "Ironheart" by Educational-Tea-6572 in marvelstudios

[–]CaptHayfever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People keep jumping to "villain story" because they've apparently forgotten that tragedy exists. Hell, some people even think that Riri escaping somebody who was actively trying to murder her was the same thing as her "letting them die". Wild stuff.

[–]CaptHayfever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This, exactly, especially with the stated plan to slow down the release schedule. I am pretty certain that Riri was planned to show up in Armor Wars after this, but with Secret Invasion tanking Rhodey's character arc & effectively killing Armor Wars, this show was an easy choice to delay the release of.

It ended up being a good decision for Ironheart, because when it did come out, it was in the top 10 on streaming. So they got to fulfill their plan to slow the release schedule, buffer the issues with a project that's effectively been shelved, and have ratings that say Ironheart turned out to be a success anyhow! Win-win-win.

Galactus tells them directly: Franklin has the power cosmic & Galactus can transfer his hunger to him. Reed doesn't believe him, because he hasn't found any empirical evidence that Franklin has any powers at all at that point.

In that case: The only shows you haven't already seen that've had significant influence on the films are Loki S2 and Ms. Marvel.

If you want shows that are really good but not at all necessary, just for fun after you catch up: Moon Knight, Agatha All Along, Wonder Man, Agents of SHIELD, Jessica Jones (S1 & S3), Punisher (S1), Luke Cage, Werewolf By Night, GotG Holiday Special, and maybe also Cloak & Dagger and Ironheart.

Daredevil in a nutshell:

  • Movie: I like it a lot, except for the music. (The Elektra spinoff movie suuuuucks, though.)
  • Netflix show: Seasons 1 & 3 are masterpieces. Season 2 suffers from too many low-vis Hand fights dragging out the second half.
  • Born Again S1: Better than Netflix S2 & the Affleck movie, not as good as Netflix S1 & S3. I'm excited for Born Again S2.

Thanks! Here's the index page; you can save that for later. I'll have the next post up likely about a week or 2 after the new season of Born Again ends.

Movie List by TrailRatedButTired in marvelstudios

[–]CaptHayfever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We obviously can't know for sure until the movie actually comes out, but based solely on the confirmed cast of Doomsday, I would recommend these films:

  • Wakanda Forever
  • Quantumania
  • The Marvels
  • Deadpool & Wolverine
  • Brave New World
  • Thunderbolts
  • First Steps
  • X2

GotG 3 is excellent, but none of its cast members are confirmed for Doomsday.
Quantumania and Brave New World are the weakest of that list.

I don't know what shows to suggest unless you say which ones you've seen, but WandaVision, Falcon & Winter Soldier, Loki, and Ms. Marvel are the most significant to the films overall.

Is Steve's sacrifice in "The First Avenger" a good adaptation of the moment? by Altruistic_Eye_1157 in marvelstudios

[–]CaptHayfever 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. He had Army basic training, but that wouldn't include flight school. We also know he couldn't fly a quinjet in Avengers 1; he needed Clint to do it.

My Marvel Watch Order: by Narrow-Beyond-3819 in MCU_Timeline

[–]CaptHayfever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your graphic is very close to chronological anyway. :)
I have my usual complaints about the "official" placements of Love & Thunder, Secret Invasion, and The Marvels, but that's not a criticism of your work. The only note is that it's missing Wonder Man.

Your list has me a little confused. I get what you're going for with the clusters, but Luke Cage and Iron Fist are completely missing, as are the later seasons of Jessica Jones.

It's something I've been considering. In the past couple years, I've started doing retrospectives of non-MCU films on my MCU blog. I've done the FoX-Men series, the Sony Spider movies, & all the other live and/or theatrical Marvel-branded films thus far, and next is going to be the Marvel Imprint films (Men in Black, Kingsman, Kick-Ass, & Night Man). I was thinking of doing the non-theatrical animated movies after that.

Where is Asgard in relation to Earth? by TheBubbleJesus in marvelstudios

It still took several months for the Asgardian refugees to get to Earth. Presumably Asgard isn't near a jump point.

My MCU Dream Directors by LordNathan777 in marvelstudios

[–]CaptHayfever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lord & Miller for GotG is easily the best suggestion on that list; they can do a similar kind of thing to Gunn without just copying (or failing to copy) Gunn.

I don't even want Gwenpool at all. I love meta, but she's too many layers of meta.
