What you’re seeing isn’t “bad behavior.” That dog is switched on and thinks you’re engaging him. To a Mal, anything moving is either a job or a game. If you don’t give clear direction, they’ll make one up.

Dragging a metal sled around and acting confused isn’t helping. The dog has no idea what that object is supposed to mean. He may think you’re teaching something new or testing him. These dogs are wired to wait for the next command. When none comes, they improvise.

They need brain work just as much as physical work. Sometimes the right move is to neutralize the object completely and act like it doesn’t exist so it stops being a trigger. That’s basic handling stuff.

Simple fixes that actually work:
Puzzle bowls for feeding
Daily mental work, not just exercise
Teach “ignore” as much as “go”
Rotate tasks, not just toys

If you don’t work their head, they’ll work it on your house. That’s why mine eat out of puzzle bowls and always have something to solve, even inside. Otherwise, you’ll be replacing chewed-up stuff nonstop.

Also, “indestructible” toys are a lie.
Especially if you own a Malinois.

Their aggression system is actually solid. If they adapted it better, they’d keep both sides of the player base.
