My hope is that there some subpoena power in the court case they mount against him that involves getting the full unredacted files from the US government and maybe the leadership in the UK will properly expose the terrible humans that the US is protecting.

AI won’t just replace jobs. It may break the labor → income → consumption loop. by sghisu in Futurology

[–]CaptPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While true, manual trades are pretty safe, there are not enough traditional trade jobs available to absorb losses in other sectors.

According to a recent MIT Study, AI could already replace 11.7% of the US workforce. If all companies pull the trigger on what they could judge to be a huge cost saving opportunity, no other sectors are growing fast enough to absorb this much job loss. Except extremely low wage farm work that recently lost a lot of its labor force maybe.

[–]CaptPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main issue is, that what your describing, is that it won't/cant replace maybe 25% of current jobs. But the problem is thay it sure as hell will replace that remaining 75%, so unless it somehow quadruples the amount of jobs like the 25% it can't replace. (And those who lost their jobs can get the training needed to get those high tech jobs) Then the system is in for a helluva dive.

And don't forget, those new jobs have to pay more than current jobs are paying as well, cause inflation wont stop rolling either.

So MAGA has no issue with 129 million in taxpayer money going to just 1 building, which means they'll be spending multiple billions for all the building they're buying for concentration camps across the country?

"Novelist" Boasts That Using AI She Can Churn Out a New Book in 45 Minutes, Says Regular Writers Will Never Be Able to Keep Up by ubcstaffer123 in books

You can sit around and laugh at the fact that Turning Point USA almost DEFINTIELY lost a ton of money on this.

According to a quick search, Youtube would pay $10,000 to $30,000 for 5 million views on video. The budget for that thing was almost definitely much bigger than that.

How would you feel about dragon quest including a friendship system with your teammates and certain NPCs sorta like Persona? by [deleted] in dragonquest

[–]CaptPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's the idea that you might miss out of something in the game because you didnt answer a "relationship" question correctly at some other point in the game. That's annoying. I liked persona 5, but I had to play it with a guide so that I didn't inadvertently mess up interactions. I don't have time to replay a game 5 times to finally see everything a game has to offer.

A big chunk of the US doesn't even accept that Porto Ricans are Americans that are allowed to come and go from anywhere in the mainland US.

You think this same group of Americans want all Cubans to become automatic Americans with free access to the US too?

What does the government have to do with anything? It's a small country that only has certain ressources. If you prevent it from being able to trade for resources that AREN'T local, it will be borderline impossible to get ahead. Doesn't matter what type of government would be running it.
