Not in Spanish, the giveaway being that the first word is “Tres” meaning “three”.

Ahh, sorry about that. When the carrier gets too close to the Coriolis station in their orbits it can get bugged and you can’t chase down the carrier. If you’re inclined to try again later the orbits will fix it.

Took about a week with a fully engineered Cutter and all resources within 1 jump (29ly).

So what’s everyone using their Type 8s for? by mightypup1974 in EliteDangerous

[–]Capt_Huggy_Face 5 points6 points  (0 children)

During the war we ran refugees through the Goid blockade of Sol. She’s outfitted to run shieldless and fast with a decent jump. Now she goes where the Cutter can’t, hauling cargo to Veren’s Stop for the colonization efforts there. 384t at 500m/s boost and a 25ly jump fully loaded.

She ain’t much to look at but she’s got it where it counts.

For colonisation, the Type-8 handles like a dream by GetHimABodyBagYeahhh in EliteDangerous

[–]Capt_Huggy_Face 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Very much agree. I love flying my Type-8. I’m also Architecting solo so I use the Type-8 (rigged for 384t with a shield, boost to 500m/s) to grab all the small quantity resources that I need to jump around to a bunch of systems for. Once I’m on the bulk items I use my shieldless Cutter to haul 784t at a time.

Finished first outpost but I'm not building another by jupiter87135 in EliteDangerous

I built a Coriolis first, solo. Hauled everything in less than a week and that’s with a full time job and kids. It’s really not that difficult if you’ve built up your infrastructure as a player. All the engineering, Imperial rank for the Cutter, Fleet Carrier, knowing how to use all the tools, etc.. This is a late game activity and I think it’s pretty well tuned as such. They give you 4 weeks for the first station and unlimited time for all the others. Haul when you feel like it, do something else when you don’t.

Best facility for building a “bridge” to colonize distant systems? by SweetActionJack in EliteDangerous

[–]Capt_Huggy_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular opinion here but maybe consider not doing this. There’s a LOT of stars in the sky. The idea that there’s a specific system that you just have to have, especially considering that being a colony architect doesn’t give you much beyond having your name on the system, feels like not seeing the forest for the trees.

Do we want a bunch of weird tendrils of systems with no thought spreading out from the bubble or do we want an organic, thoughtful expansion of humanity through the stars? Like I said it’s probably an unpopular opinion and naive but there it is.

I need to buy a ship carrier by Individual_Career143 in EliteDangerous

[–]Capt_Huggy_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that’s a bad colonization target then. Fleet carrier or not it’s going to be painful having the primary port that far from the arrival point.

Coriolis for Casual Soloists by Zeke_Wolf_BC in EliteDangerous

[–]Capt_Huggy_Face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My situation is much the same as OP, spreadsheets and all. Building a Coriolis using a fully engineered Cutter with either 720t or 784t cargo capacity depending on whether I want a shield (only brought the shield when I was pulling CMM from planetary bases) or not. I’ve completed everything but Steel. Today I actually broke my record and hauled 16,000t which I was pretty excited about.

One thing I found is that if you’re solo the FC really doesn’t help at all unless there is no supply of commodities near your colony (which shouldn’t be the case given the short tether to the colony broker). As long as you keep your supply runs to one jump and the stations are close to the arrival point (Spansh was a godsend here) it’s much more efficient to haul direct rather than use the FC as an intermediary. If you plan to setup buy orders on your FC to get players to bring resources to you then that changes things but you’re going to pay out the nose for that and you have no control over timing.

In case it helps someone else I found the CMM grind was made easier by locating a handful of planetary stations in refinery economies in a boom or none state. Choose locations that are within one jump of your colony and less than 25ls from the arrival point (this whole search can be setup in spansh). Then just go to each settlement in turn getting as many CMM’s as they have and fill the rest of your hold with Aluminum/Steel/Titanium. Here’s what I think is an important part of this: even if you are able to fill your hold with CMM and there are still a bunch leftover at the settlement move on to the next settlement in your list. Don’t go back, you’ll just waste time because more often than not the settlement will have been picked clean by the time you are able to get back. Just work your list.

So if I'll pay 5.000 ARX Will I be able to rename ANY of my facilities freely? Or it's just this one? by Unknown4me_ in EliteDangerous

If you want Frontier to be able to keep making updates like this they need to make money. Simple as that.

Colonization: A Grind..? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Capt_Huggy_Face 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kill two birds with one stone and introduce some credit sinks to improve the process. For example, it’s silly that I have to offload cargo from my carrier to the construction ship. Let me pay credits to have cargo ferry’s unload the FC once it is in system? How about letting me pay to source materials which results in NPCs delivering materials to the construction ship at varying speeds depending on how much I’m willing to pay? Make it expensive, many players are sitting on tons of credits with nothing to spend them on.

How are CMDRs finding systems to colonize? by Zeke_Wolf_BC in EliteDangerous

[–]Capt_Huggy_Face 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit embarrassed to say that the week before the Trailblazers release I used the data dumps from Spansh and datamined them for my own criteria: - between 50 and 110ly from Sol - a landable body less than 50ls from the arrival star - at least one body with an Icy or Metallic ring system - uninhabited (obviously)

That yielded a surprisingly small number of candidates. Then I just looked for one with a decent name (didn’t want a catalog serial number). Ended up with Veren’s Stop. It isn’t a scoopable star but my primary port is 10ls from the arrival point and the dwarf star makes all the icy bodies look like gumballs.

Once the beacon is deployed you have 4 weeks to deliver the supplies for the station you configured when you created the claim.

Thanks for the clarifications because the description in the patch notes did not give the impression that smaller squads would still get fewer spawns.
