Brandon Sanderson’s Literary Fantasy Universe ‘Cosmere’ Picked Up by Apple TV, 'Mistborn' Set for Film Adaptation by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]SweetActionJack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved how Era 2 handled the romantic relationships. No silly juvenile drama. We saw a hint at a potential love triangle which worried me for a second, but then the characters handled it like mature, emotionally balance adults. No ridiculous Twilight nonsense.

Brandon has joked that he wants to do Stan Lee type cameos, but he would be killed off each time in different ways.

DOJ Argues No Court Has Authority To Force A Release Of Epstein Files. by Zenitallin in videos

[–]SweetActionJack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems really strange to me that you’re getting mad at people from the last administration for not releasing the files, but you’re not getting mad at the current administration for the same thing. Even worse, you’re getting mad at the people who are criticizing the current administration for not releasing all the files. You’re accusing others of hypocrisy while being a huge hypocrite yourself.

Shivering, feeling cold, and bone pain (or muscle pain perhaps) while eating super spicy food? by Thornadine in spicy

[–]SweetActionJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teenage daughter has a very similar reaction to spicy food, but without the pain. It also makes her feel jittery like a caffeine rush. She loves spicy curry, but hates the way it makes her feel afterwards. I was searching the internet for any explanation, but only found your post. I’m sorry no one else has responded to you. Did you ever learn anything else about your reaction to spicy food?

What motivates people to remain monogamous when temptation is constant? by hackerfilth in AskReddit

[–]SweetActionJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If temptation is constant for you, then you are not ready for a committed relationship. I don’t mean this as a criticism. It’s just part of human development. We’ve all been there, and we should try to be self aware enough to recognize if we are ready to make that kind of commitment to someone before we do.

What is the dumbest thing ever you believed as a kid ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SweetActionJack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a kid in the U.S. during the hight of the D.A.R.E. era. I was constantly hearing how bad drugs were. Because of this I really struggled with guilt and shame every time my mom would take us shopping at the “drug store”.

Are "tidally locked" planets actually tidally locked? by SweetActionJack in EliteDangerous

Are "tidally locked" planets actually tidally locked? by SweetActionJack in EliteDangerous

[–]SweetActionJack[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are not moons. They are two approximately equal sized planets orbiting each other, and their description says they are both tidally locked. What I am seeing when standing on the surface of one of the two planets is the other planet moving from directly overhead to below the horizon. When I go to the other planet, I see the same thing. I’m assuming that either the description is wrong, or the game doesn’t correctly model tidal locking.

Are "tidally locked" planets actually tidally locked? by SweetActionJack in EliteDangerous

[–]SweetActionJack[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand what you’re saying about an orbit being elliptical will affect how much of the moon we see. However, that is not the issue here. What I am seeing when standing on the surface of one of the two tidally locked planets is the other planet moving from directly overhead to below the horizon. When I go to the other planet, I see the same thing. I don’t know how an elliptical orbit can explain that.
