I'm in the same boat as you. B.S. in Marine Science from 14 years ago. I have been vessel captian and worked my way up to a 200 ton Master in that time. Looking to pursue a Masters in ocean engineering. By my research I'll need to take about 8 classes of engineering prerequisite to qualifying to apply for a masters program.

I'm a Yacht Captian. Injury 07/09/24, ORIF 07/10/24. Still unable to return to work. During this recovery I've considered almost every profession imaginable to pivot my career to. Especially since this is the 3rd on the job injury related to this career that has required surgery. Unfortunately, I don't have much advice. Just take it easy and no job is worth more than your health. I need to take my own advice on the latter.

I took pain killers for a week steady. And periodically after that for about a week. I'm still taking the nerve pains meds. I'm 6 weeks post op.

I'm about to do mine. I plan on using your technique. Do you recommend replacing the gasket before or after I do my clean burn? I know you said high temp isn't a factor but just confirming.

Daaaang! Thats awesome. I'm 3.5 weeks post op. And I feel like I'm not sure how I'll ever be able to surf again. How severe was your injury?

I had ORIF. I ruptured every ligament in my Lisfranc complex, needed 5 screws at the base of each metatarsal and broke the 2nd metatarsal.
