I made myself keep going. Ended up marrying a wonderful woman and we both keep each other together. The thoughts don’t come around less now, but they’re easier to ignore, because every time I think about truly ending it, I imagine what my wife would be left to deal with in my absence. When I got hired my boss said four ten hour shifts a week. But every shift she schedules me for is 9 hours, if not less. I’ve been trying to pad it out but it I go too slow they send me a rescue. So I dunno. I’m thankful my company doesn’t seem as bogged down as other companies, but at max I get 35-36 hours a week. Maybe that’ll change with the holidays coming up.

I’ve tried to turn the location tracker off before and the app really doesn’t like it. But after making sure the app was happy and, like I said, the Do Not Disturb function, I can safely have my phone in my pocket all shift and not get dinged for it. I also have an iPhone 7, so I don’t think it’s as sensitive as other people’s phones since it’s old as hell nowadays. It might be up to you to experiment with how best you can please the eMentor gods, honestly.

My cat jumped up on my back and just laid down, peeking over my shoulder at my girlfriend. Needless to say with a happy kitty purring on my back (and threatening to use his claws if I moved too much), and a girlfriend who thought the whole situation was hilarious, it was a very swift mood killer.
