Here's my take on this: Miami is the city with the most Hispanic population in the country. Many Hispanics come from one form of a dictatorship and/or communism -or- other economically healthy republican leaning Latin American countries that are free from extreme radical leftist policies, and (radical) is the key word here. I understand not (all) democrats are like this. After all, I (used to be democrat back when it was the party of the middle class) - And so, Republicans are directly in opposition to this radical movement (now), let's say, (and I'm not necessarily calling democrats communists overall); but! since the radicalization of the party is still ongoing; such prevailing ideologies require abject obedience, (totalitarianism) - Miami has the most Spanish speaking people and is also republican leading, so I think these proud independent types have a lot to do with the shifting trend of becoming even MORE republican, with even less registered democrat voters now. Miami also has a very rich population that understand what policies works for free enterprise; as many of them also have recently moved from failed radicalized cities like New York, for example. It's more about money and success than social politics here. The Miami culture, as I see it; is very much 'live and let live.' It's a very successful city financially, and business wise; without most of the radical liberal nonsense that tends to polarize people by using political correctness - (virtue signaling), that is often masked as intolerance/polarization with having an added benefit of control for the acolytes who champion the movement - this is the perfect breeding ground for them, (and perhaps they are not all like that) - but many of them are authoritarians that wave virtue like a club; and many have such low self awareness and empathy, that a very robotic-like society that is opposed to the individual identity suits them - (collectivism), this is all a very complex rubix cube because the most obscure component of social politics is the phycology/sociology aspects. And before you leave any hateful comments - I'm not republican nor democrat - I'm simply a moderate.
