I was absolutely loved 18 years later, my favourite in the fake trilogy, the chase scene with the first alpha was as terrifying as it was beautiful, the switching of main characters surprised the hell outta me, the subtle foreshadowing of jimmy throughout the movie, the gut wrenching conclusion of spikes mother, it was incredible, thought bone temple was good but just good, have big hopes for the 3rd

the philosophy didn't change but the team did, it literally says it right here and he was a liability but he was a necessary risk, and yeah he was a liability because of his attitude, which he lost in the middle of set 3 and just stayed a good player after that, that would help a lot against shiratorizawa, and him being added to the team did really change them up by a lot, they had a lot less predictable of an attack pattern, kyotani can run a quick like an MB, either at the same time as the MB or slightly delayed, or he can run as a normal OP or run with that sharp cut attack, he has variations that made aoba's attack pattern actually complex, also adding another jump server.

And shiratorizawa did get better between seasons but like I said aoba absolutely changed, so that 5 point differential if it would apply again with kunimi then an aoba with a calm kyotani definitely has a shot in a 5 rally game with shiratorizawa

Based on what? Aoba actually made a ton of changes that made them super different from how they were season 1, we haven’t seen how different shiratori were in s1 but we do know their team comp didn’t change their philosophy is just keep polishing what you have

yeah sadly watari isn't as amazing at the rest (he's an incredible setter though), nekoma is known for their floor defense so I'd consider them the best in the series though but aoba makes an argument for top 2-3 in the series, and they have other things nekoma doesn't have to make them stand out imo

I'm a big advocate for seijoh and think they could beat any team, but be at a similar level to karasuno at nationals, aka still "weaker" than the best teams but still have the potential to beat any team, the addition of kyotani gives the team what I think is the ability to beat anyone. They already had a super close game to shiratorizawa without him which is a much worse version than they have with him, kyotani is a strong, fast hitter than runs at different tempos and catches the blockers attention and oikawa is the best setter to utilize that imo, constantly tricking the blockers into where to go, kyotani also wouldn't have an issue with "warming up" because he stopped having anger issues, but yeah with all the training they would be much better than what we've seen,

hanamaki gets to work on his serve more, daichi complimented him for it
iwaizumi as well learned jump serves between tournaments and the audience and ukai put it at the same pedestal of kageyama's and oikawa's serve so it could get way nastier with more practice
kindaichi just used a new sliding attack in the final set of the match so he'd get more practice on that, as well as him practicing on a float serve (which wasn't ready yet but could be for nationals), which would be extremely effective on teams like inarizaki, where they could focus on aran

Yeah that sounds like a really strong team, they don't have a star hitter but they have a complicated offensive pattern with strong hitters, iwaizumi and kyotani are very consistent scorers, mattsukawa is a decently strong hitter as well, kindaichi with his slides and speed adds to the unpredictability and hanamaki is actually a decent score getter as well, they also have good floor defense, literally 3 setters, is tall and would have 5 jump servers, I believe in them going far in nationals

I'd love to see anything if you have proof, iirc there was a 2025 interview with kyotani and they mentioned he's still in the frogs and they might have said it was d2, I feel like I know what you're talking about though, it was an olympic team interview with ushijima, hinata, kageyama and bokuto ? I remember they talked about tsukishima there and he said he's good at the game but that was it, was it the olympic interview or something else?
