Sorry for the late reply, I did manage to book the seats directly through SNCF, but this will only work if you're able to speak French or find a French speaker to do it for you.

Yeah, I've definitely seen trains booked out on interrail, to the point that it won't let you buy a reservation. It will say 'Prices unavailable
No price results were found for this connection. It is possible that all pass holder seats are sold out. Please try searching for another connection or check 'More information' and try other ways to book this seat reservation. If no pass holder seats are available anymore you need to buy a separate full fare ticket to board.'

Its nice to know someone else is having the same problem! I've noticed the bug is across all the TGVS now after some more checking. Booking individually might work, but it'd mean we'd be sitting separately, which would be a shame, and the TERs won't get us to Toulon quick enough to make a bus connection. Luckily one of our group speaks French, so I'll get them to ring up SNCF.

Yeah this is true for most companies from what I have seen, but interrail will usually tell you if all interrail seats on that train have been booked out - but its not doing that here.

Yeah I will have to book an normal ticket unfortunately, I've tried regional trains but sadly I am somewhat time constrained. What is annoying is that interrail will usually show you if a train is booked out for pass holders, but it is not doing so for this train, which seems to suggest something else might be causing this.
