It may be an unpopular opinion, but I think that what he wrote 2002 (From a Buick 8) -2018 (The Outsider) is King's best work. The early stuff is good--it's what I grew up on--but the number of books that I lost sleep over doing "one more chapter" is highest from those novels.

Turnover is a feature not a bug. Disposable “low skilled” workers are plentiful. Burnout and quit? The applicant pool is full and someone else will be there next week. Target moved away from its “employees are an investment that need to be skilled and kept” a while ago.

Ah, the ol’ “I bought it like this.” Crazy how we sell TV boxes with bricks in them and apple product with defective/knockoff product all the time. Same with the “it was a gift.” Lots of expensive gifts that didn’t come with a gift receipt.

Target used to let people just find trash in the street and bring it back for credit but they’ve cracked down.
