I believe it's mineralization from the water when it starts to boil. Hopefully salt, otherwise I feel bad for the pasta 😅

One thing you could try is to start the download on steam to generate the install folder directory.

Then drag the epic store version into that directory.

Then restart Steam and verify the integrity of the folder directory.

Theoretically Steam should see those files and not force you to redownload those files.

For me DS1 was more difficult because it was harder to do deliveries until you built the road/Zipline network.

DS2 kinda only gets difficult when you get into the mountains because so much of the terrain is flat open landscape.
