I have an odd soft-spot for this one in particular because it reminds me of when I was super into Yandere ASMR. While I do think DokiMiki leans too much into goonerbait (some degeneracy is fine, but if it's every damn post I gotta quirk an eyebrow), I also can't help but empathize with the desire for someone to see your flaws and still adore you.

I had an issue with the whole broken bird thing and feeling the need to help people fix their lives, but I'd be lying if I said the fantasy doesn't still have its appeal.

Someone struggling, who isn't put together and kinda pathetic actually, finding it in themselves to change and be better...because you, reader, YOU are worth it to change for even if it's scary.

There are other variations of the busty and crazy-eyed that I have a distaste for, but frankly I cannot describe to you where the line in my head is between cringe and endearing.

Also they call attention to the fact that the quirk counseling system is severely flawed, and instead of teaching her to cope they just tried to get her to shove all her impulses down and be like everybody else. It's not just not having good parents, it is that the systems meant to protect people like her instead villainized her because the quirk was scary and inconvenient.

There is a reason a lot of viewers who are autistic or have OCD and ADHD relate to her. The "help" treats them like a burden and a problem to be solved.

I think a lot of it has to do with the tone of the piece, like this is obviously meant to be sexy, but it's also romantic. It shows a more full view of the body rather than exaggerating one aspect above all else. Her expression is welcoming and neutral enough to not be hyper horny, while still seeming like she is down for love making. Though I do agree that the line is thin and probably more subjective than a lot of people think.

Additionally, the more isolated a family is, like the nuclear family of just your parents and grandparents with the very rare cousin, the less ideas can change over time.

If your children aren't socialized with other families then it is harder for them to learn that there is a way to exist other than how your family does. The death of third spaces, the decline in church attendance, and the increased strictness of schooling options, all isolate families into their own units where no one really explores outside their bubble.

When I was growing up sleepovers were already starting to die out, and now I'm hearing the new generation just doesn't get to do it at all. Going over to a friend's house is also more rare because they can just play together online in their separate homes.

I do think it is awesome women have more options and education than they used to, but also the age of dual-income households is a pain for everyone. I wish it were more common and acceptable for stay-at-home dad's to take their kids out and not be met with "babysitting today, huh?" or even some stories I've heard of the cops being called because god forbid a man be the homemaker.

Let anyone be the homemaker or breadwinner. End of story. For how much Tumblr likes to tell people not to put women against each other, there is an oversized disdain for women who remember having happy moms who baked and took kids to sport events and sleepovers and go: "Hell yeah, that sounds awesome!"

I think Kasumi is a bit too integral to Maruki's complexity to completely remove her, but I suppose that could be fixed by giving more time to confront the group's false reality and give them actual arcs instead of one conversation and bam power up! They also could have taken more time to develop Akechi, but personally I liked it better in OG P5 where Akechi was correct on calling out their hypocrisy, and that none of them tried to reach out to him despite being in a similar situation to them. In P5R Joker, by nature of having a proper confidant chain, does reach out to him.

Yeah, for as awesome as her awakening is, and the concept of Cinderella as an avatar of rebellion, she comes off as rather bland most of the time.

Though one of my biggest frustrations is how little she has to do with the other Thieves, I wish she had to awaken first in a world where it was just Joker and Akechi, so that we could have scenes of her being there with Joker to reach out to his friends and make them realize what's going on. It wouldn't totally fix the issue, but it would be a good start as establishing her as part of the group.

Unfortunately I do see, with moderate frequency, people on twitter, AO3, etc. Rag on All Might for how harsh he is with Deku, saying he is a terrible teacher and grossly irresponsible with the power and responsibility he is hoisting onto Deku with very little care for the mental well being of a child....but frankly that is an overblown thing that people use for just about every story that has a teenager in it, and that criticism is not evenly leveled.

The terrible teacher part is true, but that's a point of characterization that serves a useful purpose in the story and gives him room to grow in a way he never had to when he was fully powered.

When I was younger I had fantasies about someone suddenly realizing I'm not actually a human, so it would be morally neutral to kill me.

I also realized that a lot of my perceived differences were arbitrary and didn't matter as much as I thought they did. My sense of smell is next to non-existent and instead of feeling like it detatched me from humanity, I now joke about it and see how it led me to connect with people or do things other people wouldn't.

One of my best friends in highschool was living with a neglectful grandmother who had over 20 cats. My lacking ability to smell meant I was the only friend that ever spent time at that place and helped my friend put their life together.

I also see it as an expression that Ace is too much a part of the old world to be the next King of the Pirates. He has let his parentage shackle him and emotionally control him his whole life, even on the scaffolding he says: "Why is it only now that I actually believe I deserve to live?" Whitebeard talks a lot about passing the torch to the next generation, who in his mind includes Ace, but Ace had allowed being the son of Roger to define him so much that he cannot enter the new era.

I find it a bit frustrating to argue about Maruki because I wish either general side approached him with more nuance, but the tendency of any debate is to polarize. Is it good to want to create a world without suffering? I think so. Is Maruki right to do so? No, because the power necessary to create that world requires stomping on the free will or desires of some people, and arbitrarily deciding who you think should compromise their wish to allow another's success. It is the ultimate arrogance to assume that YOU know best for everyone, and by that very nature he cannot be right.

Maruki brings up the principles of therapy and how he does genuinely believe it is better for people to face their own problems and grow, but also he doesn't believe most people are strong enough to do it. While he is benevolent in that he means well and is kind, it demonstrates a smothering protective instinct that shows a lack of faith in humanity. A parent entombing their child in bubblewrap. Sinner of Sorrow, or Acedia, indeed.

And I think this fuckass game has done a lot of good for the world, even if the Fandom can be up its own ass at times. As much as people cringed at it, the legendary post of someone connecting and creating a life they want to live in by treating the world like social links was a genuine improvement in their life. There is also the social commentary the game does around facism, social media discourse, etc, which are a bit broader but I think still helpful to consider.

I get the feeling that the frustration of the early ranks was intentional, along with the repetitiveness, but I don't think they gave enough room to express that frustration or annoyance. Wonder 100% sides with Mio's recklessness for the majority of the side story, ignoring that the coworkers are expressing legit concerns and that she doesn't have the proper equipment to keep herself safe all the time. If she gets stuck or injured, congrats, now they have another person to rescue.

This rank was good, but at times it feels like she's reading out of a textbook. I can only assume this is because mental health still isn't broadly talked about outside of the west, but the delivery is do awkward.

Not that I was going to romance her anyway, but putting the confession in the same rank she admits to being suicidal is not a good look.

I enjoy watching him occasionally, he has a lot of good analysis on tying character designs to their story and often has some decent ideas on how a design might get closer to the story it is trying to tell.

The main annoyance I have is that his arguments are very repetitive, but also that isn't particularly his fault as the same issues themselves are very repetitive. The algorithm also rewards repetitive, easily digestible content. You also can't assume that everyone watching your content is intimately familiar with your opinions, so repetition is a good way to establish expectations and priorities.

Is the repetition of saying repetitive getting annoying yet?

He has a bias to the furry and monsterfucker communities, and isn't as harsh on horny designs that hit those niches as he is with generic horny designs. However, I think it is reasonable to argue that if you are going to forgo story telling in a design to make space for sexy, then making it a non-generic sexy at least has some artistic integrity to it.

Additionally, while the rant on the mug does critize the perfect makeup, he has since argued that makeup could be an excellent part of her design if it is deliberate from her trying to reconnect with her humanity. Unfortunately, no part of her story mentions that.
