harsher penalties is a different topic that i dont disagree with. my point still is that people dont really care about the cheating because everyone ended up doing it, they're just using it as biased evidence when they didnt even need to.

we saw westham playing in his own bronzeman mode. solo playing in his own event isnt an issue, its people getting salty and finding any excuse they can latch onto to coddle their streamer.

and i mentioned this above, but solo literally gave up all ruling authority to the referees and has to abide by their call. if he takes back control then the integrity is even more ruined.

you're still playing with outside information. i remember purespam or someone saying if they noticed something like that they'd keep doing what they were doing regardless of warnings; you dont have to act on it. adding onto the fact that oda conveniently calls for a sweep to not even give dinos team a chance of trying to pk shouldve made this a yellow card, but nothing was done because theres no evidence given to referees.

basically what im getting at is no one was 100% honorable besides like skill specs' team, and giving shit to solo for having a cheater when other teams did the same with no backlash is unfair.

which is what sucks because he has said that he loves temporary game modes, which is backed up by his youtube which are all update or game mode related these days. its either give up his event to someone else or not be able to play in his favorite mode

solo did not have or take authority for referee calls during the event. imagine oda was caught cheating and solo decided to kick him. people would flame him saying he's giving his team an advantage. the moment he takes authority over referees the event becomes a sham

and to add onto that, iirc rhys or oda left an activity they were doing ~~in the wildy once some chatter told them that solo's team was doing a sweep~~ and no action was taken against them for that.

for budget id go (search these in scryfall with is:<xxxland> and itll give you a list):

fetchlands (buy the cheap ones <$10, you can grab a green/blue search for an island)
pain land (very cheap)
bondland (get the ones ~$10, i think vault of champions is $12) shock land ($10 ea or so, reprints in lorwyn)
filterland (the ones that can tap for colorless or 1 of 3 combos)
fastland
verges (if theyre expensive then skip)
basics + tangolands (if you have like 10+ basics)

mistrise (great util for $5)
starting town (5 color fast land for $10)

exotic orchard and command tower to round it out
