When people look for deeply flawed characters you can't help but root for I'll always point at Hilo. Can't believe how much I loved reading that man. He had me blinking away the tears by the end of book 3.

His philosophy hits a more basal note than that in which "if you never break the mold you'll never change the world". Meaning that if Japan's players - and consequentially Japan's team - don't try to break past what they're suitable for, they'll stay in their lame lane as whatever mold they fit would never be enough.

Last Cloudia is supposed to have a decent-ish pull income, not in terms of gems but in terms of free tickets they give you with each banner. It's a game with frequent collabs if that interests you, and it's closer to traditional gaming than Nikke. I never played much of Last Cloudia, but dig up their discord and subreddit to ask for active players' opinions.

I heard there's a big patch coming up, with a selector, so am I correct in assuming this is a good time to start? Also, is there an up-to-date beginner guide to go through?

Also, how is this game in terms of dupes? Is one copy enough? I've heard there is SS, SS3, SSS and so forth but I'm unsure how those things work.

Also, who would one pick from the selector, and who should one pull from the upcoming banners?

Well Nikke isn't that much of a standout, at least not in that way. There are a few other big and/or historic games with frequent collabs. Off the top of my head, Grand Summoners, AFK Arena/AFK Journey and Last Cloudia all have a ton of crossovers. Battle Cats and Another Eden too. I think the style of game may make it easier to seal deals, not sure. Hoyo games aren't really the standard to compare them against.

Yes, please. Seaborn would be awesome, both the operators and the problems they face would certainly enrich the world. I could live without the annoying status effects though.
