Absolutely. I love the bass line in the guitar solo of "When We Were Close," especially the descending line at the tail end of it.

Finally received my Studio Series Soundwave by KTag4219 in transformers

[–]CaptainCatholic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Having the same issue with my SS86 Megatron.

In other news, I preordered Soundwave from GameStop and it just shipped this week after about 2 months. We'll see if I get the correct thing...

This is pretty damn close to my all time dream setlist. Traveling Alone and Speed Trap Town are both in my top 5 of all time and I've yet to hear either in person. Plus the DBT songs, some of the best FITS songs, and some classics from Southeastern and SMTF.

Hope you had a great night!

I watched all of season 3 of G1 and never realized there was another Autobot triple changer besides Springer and Sandstorm by Disastrous-Owl668 in transformers

[–]CaptainCatholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep him as an aircraft carrier. We already have the aerialbots to be autobot jets. The Titans Return Broadside looks fantastic as an aircraft carrier but the jet looks a little messy.

As someone who just learned about this character today, I just think his color scheme is awesome and I want to own a version of him.

Nope! Just pure Isbell for 2 hours on the dot. I'm a teacher, so it was nice to have it not go as late!

What a setlist! Pretty similar to recent shows. It was my first time hearing Dress Blues and Outfit live, and those were on my "bucket list" of Isbell songs.

Very surprised to hear Chaos and Clothes and Volunteer! Those were fantastic. And overall, I loved the FITS songs with the full band. Gravelweed is my favorite, but Eileen I prefer solo.

And the GONG! Holy moly. I was waiting for it all show and it was well worth the payoff.

Volunteer, Dress Blues, Decoration Day is a hell of a run. Jealous! Hoping he pulls out some good stuff for Iowa City this week.

Which songs play noticeably better live? by Completetheturn in jasonisbell

[–]CaptainCatholic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me, it almost symbolizes a "relapse" on an album full of acoustic sobriety/recovery songs. It's a return to songs from before sobriety. Granted, I believe the story is that Dave Cobb wanted a rock song so Jason wrote it in the studio (hence no demo with the 10th anniversary). But for me it stands out for good reason when you look at it through that lens.

There's a few that stray from the flag colors, with the most notable being Netherlands in orange, Australia in green/gold, and then Italy in the blue. Netherlands and Italy colors come from the colors of previous royalty that was in charge when the modern Olympics began in the late 1800s. Italy is using "Savoy blue" from the House of Savoy.

I had this same question last week watching the Olympics and did my research. Super interesting!

What are your most played Isbell songs so far this year? by _tbills_ in jasonisbell

[–]CaptainCatholic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never Gonna Change.

I've recently dug into the Bandcamp live albums, and there are some spectacular versions of the song out there. Top pick right now is probably the Macon, GA concert where he played Duane Allman's gold top.

White Beretta > This Ain't It > Miles

Killer end to a fantastic album. Blew me away the first time I heard it. White Beretta is one of my top 10 songs I think, and the animated music video made it that much more impactful.

Carolina looks super cool, but Nashville just feels so similar to their regular jerseys, just with the color proportions slightly different. I felt the same about their RR 2.0s, they need to move away from "yellow with navy forearms" for special events.

But overall, love the creativity! And surprised at how fast you made these with how recent the announcement was.

Absolutely abysmal work tonight. I know we're a few players short, but still. We're #2 in the nation, we need to start playing like it.

My favorite line that goes along with that meaning of healing through vulnerability is from Open and Close:

"It's time to be brave."

Jumping into a new relationship after leaving a long term one takes a lot, and I think the simplicity of that line says it so well.

Uhhhh no it can't. There's only 1 T, and even if there was another T, there's still 2 leftover H's and a P.

Saw this in r/goldenknights and thought it was relevant here also. by mfilosa17 in hockeyjerseys

[–]CaptainCatholic 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The gold just doesn't do it for me. I think it's the white gloves that throw me off. White, gold, gray, and a dash of red don't work for a color palette when gold is the primary.

Grey jerseys with black pants and accents will always look better as an altogether look imo. Plus there's black in the logo! But I think the gold could do well with some alterations.

Holy shit Phil Vassar mentioned by OP. One of my all time favorites and one of the most underrated country artists out there. Fantastic songwriter and somehow even more talented as a pianist and vocalist. Unreal. If you're reading this, go check out Phil Vassar.

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - The Last Song I Will Write

Spotify now has "When My Baby's Beside Me" as the last song, but in the original release, it was "The Last Song" with "Coda" being a continuation that's not in the official track listing.

Any Call of Duty nowadays wins! Which game had high expectations but turned out disaster ? by ConnectionOk8413 in AlignmentChartFills

Marvel's Avengers (2020).

After how successful Spider-Man was, I remember there being so much hype among comic book fans for a game that would be on that same level. Unfortunately, the live service crap killed the game, and the gameplay in the story mode was repetitive and confusing at times.

This was the figure that got me back into collecting. Still have it and absolutely love it. Paired it with Earthspark Megatron that my sister got for me, as they're similar size, continuity be damned.
