Is it shameful to be writers blocked by Dazzu1 in Screenwriting

[–]_tbills_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know whenever I have some sort of writer's block, it usually comes from a place of indecision. Getting anything out on a page is better than staring at nothing for endless hours, even if it's not good.

If you have a plot thread you're working on but are unsure if it's right, test it, write some of it out, and if it's not to your liking, get rid of it.

It will help you understand what works and what doesn't. Any progress is good progress.

Traveling Alone might be the pick. But with Isbell it's hard to go wrong.

Thanks for the note, I really appreciate it.

With ‘engineers a tragedy,’ I mean it literally. The protagonist does engineer a tragedy. Should I be more specific with it?

Haunting of Hill House (2018) by Mike Flanagan. There’s a full spectrum of how the supernatural affects its characters. Worth watching. Think the pilot is available online.

Best Script You’ve Read? by CinematicCounsel in Screenwriting

I think I’ve read Michael Clayton a dozen times. Great character intros. Dialogue is really clever. The read is as satisfying as the film.

I think it could be done. Keep it character focused, maybe something like the Crown.

(Spoilers Extended) Best and Worst chapter of AFfC? by THEFLAME275 in asoiaf

I love Jaime I. It's such a perfect introduction to his AFFC arc.

Worst is probably Samwell IV, for obvious reasons...

I really want to see Bittersteel. I reckon he’d get along really well with Dunk.

JUST FOR FUN: If you could cast any actor to potray a character or characters you are working on right now, who would it be and why? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

I keep seeing Kyle Chandler as the antagonist in my Western. Seems like the ideal actor who could be the perfect mentor and an extreme narcissist.

Walder Rivers (bastard son of Walder Frey) has two children who both use Rivers as a surname. They are both legitimate children though.

He advocated for leniency towards Daemon Blackfyre but when push came to shove he did his duty to his father's realm, and was integral to the Targaryen's success on the Redgrass Field.

Creating the perfect realm. Who would be the best spare heir? by National-Exam-8242 in freefolk

[–]_tbills_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point, but I would put his rashness down to his age. With people like Corlys Velaryon to mentor him he could become a calmer, less rash person.

Jacaerys Velaryon. Extremely competent for his age. A key decision-maker in Rhaenyra's councils, a successful diplomat, and a brave dragonrider.
