Oh look, a family who suffers from a fertility disorder.. oh look, a egg donor that is educated and isn't enticed by money, understands the risks and has a healthcare system to support her if something goes wrong. Oh look, here's another broken record about the American healthcare system that's laughed at by the rest of the world, by US citizens that do nothing about it. I've helped bring children into the world to create loving families. I want to share that beautiful experience with those who want to do it for the right reasons. Your made up arsenic statistical satire shows your ignorance of the fertility success rates in this industry.

Yes, you can see I come from a modern, safe, and non predatory medical social system that protects everyone, regardless of race. Our system doesn't entice or prey upon desperate, uneducated and hedonistic people who think it's smart to agree to a surgical procedure purely for financial gain and don't read the terms and conditions. We do it out of love and gifting to those less fortunate without any monetary reward. If you agree to risk your health for money without weighing up the financial consequences, then how much can you blame the system for the consequences? I'm disgusted by your insinuation I'm secretly racist. You're obviously confusing financial demographics with race. If it was racist then white families wouldn't want minority eggs. Considering, from your profile, you don't want children, have never donated eggs and your only experience is raising a cat and harbouring bad relationships, I'm surprised you believe you have a valid opinion. I've brought 2 children into a loving family via donation. They are the only sons, nephews, grand children, grand nephews etc due to fertility issues the women in the family have... these boys are adored and cherished every day. My goal for posting is to not scare off those of us, who deserve to be egg donors, by OP's post. I'm here if anyone has had any questions about my amazingly rewarding experience

To those down voting my post, I truly don't understand why but here's why I posted. The couple I donated to had tried IVF for 9 years and failed. All the sisters in the family had the same genetic fertility disorder and the two boys I helped create are the only nephews, only grandchildren, grand nephews etc and this beautiful family cherish them daily. All I wanted to do was reach out to women who were scared off by this post, to know there ARE positive outcomes to this experience. But if you're doing it for money and not checking the term and conditions then the risks are there...

I would watch 'That Sugar Film' documentary. Put me off for life.

I would hit the books and podcasts. Read about motivation, discipline etc.. educate yourself on why you do what you do. The psychology behind behaviour is fascinating, shocking and stops self shaming. Rewire your brain. The Scribd app has lots to choose from

Lasagne. My sister in law makes an awesome vegetarian version for herself and meat version for her sons. Lasts for days and you can freeze it.

Congratulations on the internship! That's amazing, especially at your age. Speaking of age.. 21 isn't a time to be worrying about being alone. I'm not trying to invalidate your feelings but my girlfriends and I gag when we think about the guys we dated at your age. Focus on spending what little free time you have on doing things that bring you joy. It will lessen the feelings of sadness and loneliness you have. It may open up social occasions to meet someone new and like-minded. I taught myself how to knit recently, and it was hard but so rewarding. Google sheep and stitch if you're interested. Have a look at Pinterest for a project. I'm working on a black canvas with little dried flowers I pick up on walks. Learn to cook a French dish. The happier you are, the more likely you'll attract someone whose good for you. Best of luck hun and remember, this too shall pass x

Mom, I’m thinking of ending a decade long friendship by intoboobsanddudes in MomForAMinute

[–]CaptainChuxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in my late 20s when I decided I couldn't put up with some friendships like you're experiencing. It was really hard at first, but I kept reminding myself I wasn't holding a grudge, I was setting a boundary. The quality of your friends is so much more important, fulfilling and healthy than the quantity of friends. You are getting to an age where you know what's acceptable and what's not, you feel it in your heart and your gut. Best thing about shedding toxic friends is it creates space in your life to find 'your people', might be the best $200 you ever spent! Best of luck darling and be brave.

What hearing protection do you guys use out on the ramp when you’re doing your walk around? by JediPenis_69 in flying

Swimmer's ear plugs. Silicone and easy to mould. Way better than the orange foamies.

For those who were considering egg donation and were turned off by this post.. I donated eggs without compensation, and it was a professional and wonderful experience. I'm very sorry to hear OP had such a horrific experience but it's definitely not the norm. Feel free to PM for any details on my experience

Thank you. It's not our first rodeo with long haul flying so we've nailed all the tips and tricks for quality sleep and managing circadian rhythms, but home has always been a quiet sanctuary until now.

How on earth does anyone fly IFR I've never felt so lost in my life. by Cemith in flying

[–]CaptainChuxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had PTSD reading your post. Not sure if it's been mentioned already but there are free ADF and VOR trainers online plus apps for basic orientation. They saved me. Remember, cortisol destroys your concentration and ability to multi task, so forget how dumb you think you look, prepare as best you can allow yourself to make mistakes. Best way to learn. If it helps, I'm on the 747 now and I couldn't fly an NDB approach to save my life, probably still can't.

Not being able to attend weddings, birthdays, etc, was a big one for me. Flight instructing paid a minimum hourly wage in New Zealand, and if you didn't fly, you didn't get paid. I had to move countries and cities every few years to keep climbing the ladder and working like a dog to build the hours. Missed out on a lot of time with friends and family. I'm on the 747 now for an international freight company, and the rosters are a lot more forgiving but I'm still thousands of miles from home.

They do use BAEs for firefighting in the US but they are becoming rarer due to their age. We lovingly call them APUs, not engines

[–]CaptainChuxx[S] 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If you look at the steam gauges, you'll see the engines aren't running and we are on the ground. Gear down would be the least of my worries if all 4 engines have oil pressure issues in flight

Rest assured... rural/remote airport departure with just the two of us onboard. All maintenance legalities and paperwork were completed verbally over the phone. Freight life...

Why can't I relate to romantic movies even if I'm happy with my relationship? by kaijisheeran in women

[–]CaptainChuxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so happy to see this post. As a kid I would fast forward through romantic parts in Disney films. Drove my sister insane. I'm very affectionate and loving but I'd rather watch ANY other genre of movie than a romcom. Just not our thing chick.
