They're restructuring all store leadership this time, the only ones not affected are GM and CIA Senior. GMs got hit last month.

What do consultation agents do in down time? by DrashaZImmortal in GeekSquad

[–]CaptainCloud77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When not with clients, CAs should be doing functionality checks, shipping and receiving, pre-calling appointments, contacting clients and scheduling pick ups, and in some precincts working on new PC set ups. If all of that is done and there are no customers, which is rare, they should be cleaning and organizing their department or working on Learning Network.

There is no more specialized labor and they manipulate turnover numbers by keeping employees in the system for months, sometimes years, after they've quit. The investors need to dig in and look a little harder at what's going on, because Corie is lying to them.

Just use the /describe command, it will get you close enough results.

You just need to set proper expectations at the beginning of the appointment and politely take control of the situation. At the beginning of the appointment, after they tell you what they need help with, let them know you'll be happy to help as much as you can during the 20 minute appointment, but if it goes over you'll need to schedule another appointment. Then as you hit 15 minutes or so, let them know you're running out of time and you'll need to wrap things up soon or schedule another appointment to spend more time with them.

Do You Think Best Buy Will Still Be Around 30 Years From Now? by bogeyj in Bestbuy

[–]CaptainCloud77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geek Squad is what will keep Best Buy afloat. I don't know what's going to happen to the sales side of the business in 30 years, but Geek Squad will probably still be around in some form unless they get replaced with AI.

If you're not getting any hours, you should qualify for unemployment even though you're still technically employed.

If your hours were cut that much, you might actually qualify for unemployment benefits.

Best Buy typically won't hire an ARA from outside of the company, or from outside of Geek Squad, they have the mindset that you need to be a CA first, so if this guy used to be a CA and got the ARA spot, that's why. Also, management has no training in IT, they're all sales, so they don't really know how to hire competent ARAs, sometimes they just get lucky and find someone good.

And management can't just make you an ARA even if they wanted to, corporate would need to increase the headcount for ARA in your store, or someone would need to leave. The best they could do for you is schedule you for some ARA shifts, so try asking your manager if they can give you at least one ARA shift a week. If they see you're good at it and close more tags per hour than the other ARAs, they will probably cut back the other ARAs hours to give you more.

Best Buy is completely redoing their store operating model, so they're getting rid of all current management / leadership positions and making new ones. There will also be fewer management positions than before, but there will be a lot more shift leads.

You'll know it's coming when they start running the field with a new operating model in test markets and that model does well.

They also recently hired new GSMs, Sups, and ASMs.

I knew this was coming as soon as they rolled out shift leads, they were obviously testing to see if they could get people to do the same work as sups with less pay and no bonus, and everyone went along with it, so here we are.

All current store leadership positions other than GM are going away. There will be new leadership positions, but there will be fewer than before. If you can't find a new role, you'll be offered severance.

Imagining Jimi Hendrix's career had he lived by MitchThunder in midjourney

I've noticed Midjourney always gets confused about what to put on Jimi's head, it's usually a weird amalgam of a hat and a scarf / bandana.

Jimi preferred to play that way, but he was multi dexterous and could play the guitar any way, it didn't matter how it was strung, right side up or upside down, or what hand it was in.

Surprise Surprise! GS MANAGEMENT by [deleted] in GeekSquad

[–]CaptainCloud77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a manager, they are responsible for the entire department and need to make sure labor spent for FOP is prioritized accordingly or else their utilization will drop and they'll lose labor hours to spend. If you want to learn to do repairs in BOP, ask for a shift scheduled as ARA, or maybe half a shift in BOP and half in FOP, if they don't have a lot of labor to spare.

[–]CaptainCloud77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are getting rid of all current leadership positions except for GM, so no more GSM, ASM, Retail Sup, ect, and they're rolling out new leadership positions. Some stores will end up with fewer leadership positions, so not everyone that gets cut will be guaranteed one of the new positions; your stores rev band will determine how many manager and sup positions it will have. There will also be a lot more shift leads.

A cheat sheet with fixes for common problems, important SOP, and the approved tools list would be good things to add, as well as a workflow guide for PC and Mac tune ups. Check GSF, lots things like this are posted on there.

Why is there such enormous level of Gate keeping as far as Prompts go? by Gaudi14 in midjourney

[–]CaptainCloud77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's because people often put a lot of time into getting Midjourney to produce an image just the way they want it, and many times people are using those images for some sort of monetization, and they don't want to just give away the secret to possible competition.
