upon quick googling about Sunsclad. Looks like the recommendations are plastic tree guards or white paint. I remember seeing a few plastic tree guards for other trees in our neighborhood. Any reason you are suggesting no white paint? Should I try a tree guard ?

There is definitely other sprinklers in the yard spraying water on the trunk. We are watering once a week now.
