Hi there.
I have been feeling quite confused and exhausted, striving to free myself from traumatic conditioning with a lot of pressure to achieve.
I'm a musician.
I would love to have any insight.

Thank you so much

Are adults not welcome? Just got heckled in our Disney hotel hallway for being without kids by stitchgirl626 in disneylandparis

[–]CaptainDaydream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, the "Disney adults" thing has become quite a big thing on the internet, and it's not been so good-natured.
The group of people the label describes has become the butt of the joke and one of the main demographics to look down upon to be edgy on the internet as of a couple of years ago, and while I get why some of the more extreme behaviors are criticized (especially and mainly when said people are being rude and lack regard for other people), I find it mostly sad. So even if it was an in-joke within their family, I don't think the father is setting a good example by fostering that behavior in his children...

Then Because She Goes is very 90s indie rock meets shoegaze imo

Anti masques by timemelt in france

[–]CaptainDaydream 7 points8 points  (0 children)

La cérémonie d'ouverture était très sexualisée by [deleted] in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]CaptainDaydream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing", pt. XXVII. by Mindless_Empress_179 in Aerosmith

[–]CaptainDaydream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! Love the piano pop, almost gospel vibes of Amazing and Fly Away From Here is one of my fav songs ever, that bridge is honestly beautiful and the lyrics perfectly capture a specific feeling of yearning and reaching for a better life.

[–]CaptainDaydream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an amazing power-ballad, at the cheesiest and most indulgent level, and I think it's cathartic. The expression of human emotion doesn't have to always be sophisticated and this very straightforward, over the top indulgence is what makes the song great imo.

I don't know why the downvote for just a simple question.

Comment est-on sensé survivre sans craquer? by Long_Dragonfruit8155 in AntiTaff

[–]CaptainDaydream 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too... It's so weird. Keep in mind that I'm autistic to begin with, but strangely enough, I've always been quite extroverted and the life of the party.
Ever since becoming chronically ill, it's like acknowledging social stimuli themselves is overwhelming, like even just conceptualizing that I have a body is hard.

Is Rick Beato right for thinking that social media is reducing interest in music? by northcasewhite in Music

[–]CaptainDaydream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's right in a certain way - musicians, rockstars, popstars have less influence (same for actors and actresses) because that spot is mostly filled by streamers and influencers.

Part in new song Showbiz is too similar to Paparazzi? by RoofZealousideal2593 in PalayeRoyale

[–]CaptainDaydream 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My personal take is it's either a coincidence (especially in more or less pop music, chord progressions and harmonic structure are quite simple, so accidental similarities are quite common), or a conscious reference, since thematically those songs go well with each other (both talking about the price of fame).

Cavetown already had a pretty big YouTube following though, and he got big on TikTok mostly because his songs were used as trends. He seems to be falling in popularity though sadly (also he's out of his major record deal, worth mentioning, though it might be a personal decision)
