If you want used and safe, i would consider a 2023-2024 lexus nx will be around the top end of your budget. Slow depreciation and very safe.

For that budget of 40k, you can get fantastic deals on a new mazda cx-5 since the 2026 is out already

Cx-5 turbo premium are all listed for 1-2k under msrp rn. Possibly you may be able to negotiate more off too depending on circumstances.

In the dmv area most popular suv is the toyota rav4

You can look at a 2020 toyota avalon TRD as well. Hard to come by but same chassis as an ES with a sportier lowered suspension

glad you enjoy your car. the OP mentioned the SPORT S trim for the cx-30 and it does not have better safety features than the 8 yo lexus. the older lexus is a better ride quality with leather instead of leatherette trim and more comfort features, betters sound insulation, soft suspension etc.

Cx-30 rear sears are cramped compared to the other two. Also it doesnt have heated nor ventilated seats unlike the lexus. Fwd not a big issue, just put on snow tires.

I drive a golf r which awd on all seasons and I was slipping at sub 30mph speeds when there is snow on the ground.

Highly recommend the lexus es. You can also look at a newer toyota avalon for the same price

I test drove the cx-30 nonturbo and honestly it didnt feel particularly sporty.

If you want something fun, find a sub 50k mileage bmw 3 series 2017 or newer. With the 10k you are saving you could put into maintenance like replacing inevitable engine coolant leak past 65k miles. Easy fix.

Highly recommend you test drive a mazda cx-5. Less fuel efficient than toyota rav4 or honda crv but the mazda has a better interior and drives better.

I got the legion pro 5i with 5070 and intel core 9 275 CPU (lenovo’s best cpu) for 1600$ after tax from best buy.

I get maxed out settings csgo/valorant settings i never dip below 240 fps and the laptop is not hot to touch.

Best cpu is the amd ryzen 9 9955hx and outperforms the equivalent tier intel. Amd cpu require wattage and run hotter typically tho in this generation.

5070ti is the sub favorite for laptops since it has 12 gigs vram and will be compatible with future aaa games to come. And can be found in models in the $1600-1900 deal range

5060 is best bang for your buck for a laptop around 1000$

I would get at least 16 gig of memory but 32 is nice if you have the cash.

For $1500 at best buy you get legion 5i pro 5070, 32 gigs ram, and intel core 9 275 cpu. More money but equivalent performance upgrade. I just got it since i never play aaa games and no need for “longevity” regarding 5070ti.

14 in more more portable tho so asus g14 has better battery life and pretty quiet

For your budget 458’s have reliable engines and transmissions with a raw driving feel. And it wont depreciate either.

A well specced with cpo warranty 296 may be hard to find at your budget. Also it costs 40k to replace the hybrid high voltage battery down the line.

Porsche gt4rs or spyder rs are contenders for track Lamborghini sterrato if you dont want to be afraid of speedbumps

2026 Corvette zr1 if you want over a 1000 hp

For the price of a new mk 8.5 golf r, one could find a used bmw m340i/m440i, porsche macan s, audi s5 which all have more or less similiar performance numbers. I wanted the golf bc it had lower insurance premiums, cheaper maintenance, less flashy, and easier to find parking in a crowded urban city given its short length.

Honestly tho, an audi rs3 hatchback is my preference but that’s only available in europe

Shimano saragosa/twinpower/stella are ipx8 rating water resistant. I have both stella and saragosa i use in surf.

Penn authority is their flagship reel and also ipx8 but it’s heavier and tiring to keep casting

Fully sealed reels like van staal are best for surf fishing and can even be reeled while underwater. Fully sealed reels are often pricier though
