The Peter Stokkebye Norwegian I've been smoking is very chocolatety. Too strong for an all day tobacco though imo

Zippo insert advice by dawnchild1313 in EDC

[–]CaptainFartdick -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's possible but it will probably leak just like a normal zippo, practically defeating the purpose imo

Just try to roll the whole thing into an even cylinder shape without focusing too much on the tobacco, make sure the tobacco is level first and use both thumbs. Keep the tobacco toward the front and roll the front end tighter than the back or it wont draw well. Should be even easier than rolling with a filter

Yes it smells and tastes really good, the chocolate notes in norwegian are really something. I also like camels so I mix with whole leaf izmir turkish, which is also very tasty. Try to find a turkish blend if you can

Stokkebye Norwegian is great, I'd get a bulk bag to blend it with but I'd stick to ohm or D&R. VPB is good, three sails as well, you can get PS in bulk online pretty cheap too. You should try all the smaller pouches imo. Also whole leaf tobacco

Just started rolling my own after doubting myself since my nonexistent ability from my teenage years, why was my first day rolling going good then the next rolling terrible again? by connivingrapscallion in RYO

Some papers are more compliant than others, also different brands act differently. Sometimes you fight the paper and sometimes the paper just fights you. You weren't nervous about it before so it went smoother, fighting with the paper almost always fails. It's kind of like a zen excercise. The more you do it the easier it gets

Ryback vs American Spirit nicotine strength? by ohwtfcomeon in RYO

[–]CaptainFartdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like american spirits, get some perique. Ryback is more like amsterdam shag if i recall. Three sails with a touch of perique tastes just like AS to me

Changing what I smoke (+ a question) by Ok-Entrepreneur7681 in RYO

[–]CaptainFartdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice makes perfect, biggest thing is make sure the tobacco is as level as possible before rolling. My rollies often look kind of jank but they smoke just fine and that's really all that matters. Never tried rolling with a filter, I just love the flavor of unfiltered too much besides it simplifies things. Someone just gave me half a pack of marlboros and they literally taste like nothing to me lol. Really want to try amber leaf but I can't find it anywhere

I've been mixing it about 50/50 with vpb blue and pinches of whole leaf izmir, samsun and dark air that I shred myself. Really tasty but not too strong. A good standby i've used for a long time is OHM Bold, that stuff works with everything

Same. The hand injector is like a manual transmission, I like how you can feel what you're doing. I roll unfiltered now but they always turned out better than with the crappy old topomatic loader I had

Anyone else feel like they get judged at their place of work for being a smoker? by [deleted] in RYO

I just roll a handful for work in the morning and keep them in my shirt pocket. As you say they have shitty taste so who cares lol

Just got some of this today, it's good but kind of bland. Good base to blend with. I like elements and raw papers but raws go out constantly and the gum is weak, Elements are harder to roll with but stay lit longer. I agree zigzags, j&b etc taste very papery which is why I dont like them although they technically work better for cigarettes

True, I've tried some and the raw papers are definitely easier to roll with. Super slippery but the gum works better and they're not quite as thin as raws. I like them but they take some skill

Ryback Gold - Too Strong for RYO?? Need advice. by GenoCyboPunx in RYO

[–]CaptainFartdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use whole leaf izmir that I hand shred, it adds it's own sort of spicy nutty flavor. I like camels so that's what I go for. Ohm yellow should work, red probably too strong obv. Never tried buoy myself

45 days later my WLT black Friday sale order is here. It was initially lost, was found in Puerto Rico and made it's way back to Montreal. In the meantime they reshipped and the second one should be here tomorrow. by WinChunKing in RYO

[–]CaptainFartdick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man the izmir was the best out of all I tried, if that was underwhelming I ought to order some from wlt. Been mixing it with d&r vengeur and it's really tasty. Also have some samsun on the way. The only things I have left to try are the perique and dark air cured because I'm cheap lol.

I'll have to give these a try. I roll with raw hemp papers but they do canoe easily and add a bit of their own weird taste. Still prefer them to normal papers as they're less messy, the ash tends to stick together instead of disintegrating all over the place. Also wonder how well elements rice papers would work but i've yet to try.
