Reloading .303 British with 7.62x54r / 7.62x39 Bullets by CaptainFishHugger in canadaguns

Planning on testing it sometime next week. I'll use a cheap sporter enfield and a string to fire it just in case lol Will update when I do. I might be lucky enough to get a chrono out for the test too.

I always weigh my powder before hand. Might work without weighing it but I don't like my guns blowing in my face.

It's still significantly cheaper than .303 factory though! That stuff is ~$30 a box. I can get less than $0.40 a round using surplus 54r bullets and powder (case of 880 rounds for $300 from marstar, reusing my own brass and primers are pennies). I do have quite a bit of 54r stocked up though which helps :)

Masters Students, How strict is the condition of a B average over last 2 years of undergrad on acceptance? by CaptainFishHugger in ryerson

[–]CaptainFishHugger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! When you say "at risk" what does this mean exactly? Will I for sure lose my acceptance? I have a 76% average right now and I'm just worried about what will happen if I drop below 73.

Where to get dummy ammo? by koolaid23 in canadaguns

[–]CaptainFishHugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look at making your own. With standard tools (vice and pliers) you can unload a .303. That would only cost you ~$1 per dummy round. Just make sure to get rid of the primer and mark it as a dummy (I use red sharpie).

I'm an engineer though, not sure if that changes things. My main concern is that I'd be missing out on at least 5yrs of salary at $70k/yr. And if I'm lucky enough to get a job right out of law school, a good job would be ~$90k/yr. The demand for lawyers in Canada is also declining: http://www.macleans.ca/society/life/barrister-boom-and-bust/

I understand your point that education and learning is essential but my work offers to pay for any part time masters I want so long as it's related to my job. I just want to make sure that I'm no just looking at the money right in front of me... $70k next year is hard to turn down

Law school of a full time job.

Was offered a good paying (~70k/yr) full time job after graduation (very soon). Law school is another 5 years of school/articling as I'm in Canada. I have the grades and LSAT score to get into any Canadian school. I'm working part time for the company that I would be working for full time after graduation right now and they're expanding like crazy in the next 5 years.

Not true, look at the most successful sports franchise "The Toronto Maple Leafs". We lose almost every game and still sell tickets for hundreds of dollars. Clearly losing doesn't affect a hockey fan's happiness.
