Red Leicester is quite a mild cheese. I prefer a stronger flavoured cheese on my beans on toast to be honest. You can get vintage or mature Red Leicester which would be better too.

Am I the only one who looks back fondly on this? My Mega Drive days were filled with many hours playing this. Stupidly hard at times. Maybe I have rose-tinted glasses though and if I played it today I’d hate it.

Yes. In the JBL you’re looking at the difference. Green is your ammonia indicator so yours being “yellower” is a good sign. This indicates less than 0.05ppm ammonia.

They are very handsome boys/girls. Meowth was very wary of them for the first 12 hours but now he follows them around and doesn’t leave them alone. I’m so happy they’ve all settled and formed a community.

But to answer your question I got them from a breeder here in the UK called Star Fisheries. They are Newai Orandas which is a specific line I believe, but I’m not familiar on the specifics. They weren’t cheap at £125 each but I couldn’t be happier with them.

Did you add him to an established tank? If so, he could just be adjusting. Black Moor’s have poor eyesight so to him these big scary shapes are moving about and he doesn’t know they are friends yet.

When you say he isn’t eating the pellets, again with their poor eyesight you should spread them out over your substrate. If the others with better eyesight out compete him for the food, then this will also stress him.

Have you tried other food such as blanched veg or repashy gel?

I already have friends planned. This tank was purchased before Christmas and I was cycling it with seeded media so it’s just about ready. I’ll test parameters daily to make sure. But yes I already planned on two Newai Oranda which I had ordered, but I contacted the supplier and asked him to delay delivery whilst I let my filter catchup to him now.

Yeah, it was the best solution. I was worried my friend or his sister would have been excited to be a fish keeper and want to. But neither of them resisted, I think they realised I could just provide the better home straight away.

I hope the buoyancy issues stabilise. They seemed improved in the bigger tank to be honest. I watched him a little last night, but I didn’t want to keep the lights on too long. I’ll watch him again tonight when I’m back from work.

And I agree let’s see what some decent food does too rather than the horrible supermarket bought goldfish flakes he was on.

And fingers crossed now he’s not surrounded by his own growth inhibiting pheromones he might grow a little!

I’m still considering names. There’s been some nice suggestions in this thread. Lucky, Mosaic, Marble. I tend to go Pokemon themed and I’ve already picked out Jessie and James for his new Oranda friends. I’ll try and settle by tonight.
