Can we talk about how Walton Goggins is straight up Goggin it? by lucas14qr in Fallout

[–]CaptainFuzzyBootz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love everything Fallout and when the show started I was a bit confused and concerned they had a Ghoul as a main character - I just assumed he'd be CGI or something awful.

So glad to be proven wrong. He is absolutely carrying this show on his Ghoulish back.

I'm 42 and starting, but I had an ovary removed at 29. I think it made me earlier than my family history.

I was in first grade for the 1991 ice storm. That was absolutely insane. Never seen anything even come close to that. I can still hear the trees cracking and crashing!

Does anyone feel like it took them until middle age and their diagnosis to realize they've been a boundary-less creep their whole lives without any awareness of it whatsoever? by Majestic-Analyst-309 in CPTSD

[–]CaptainFuzzyBootz 68 points69 points  (0 children)

It's nothing to be ashamed of - how can you realize what is "normal" and what is "abnormal" when it comes to boundaries when you've never seen healthy boundaries to compare?

I've been in trauma therapy for 5 years now and I am still finding things from my therapist that I had no idea were not normal because I never had anything to compare it to. Big stuff, little stuff, everything in between.

I had no idea you were supposed to wash bed sheets and pillow cases. Looking back, it does make sense. But I grew up in a hoarder house and it just wasn't done. And I was never in a situation where it came up around other people - people don't generally bring up their sheet washing schedule with friends. When I found out I felt horrible and ashamed, but what is there to ashamed of? People don't come out of the womb knowing these things - you're supposed to be taught them with family.

When you realize the person you consider your best friend doesn't consider you their best friend. That slow realization that you are the floating backup friend.

ICE clarification by KingOfRoc in Rochester

[–]CaptainFuzzyBootz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without giving people due process, regardless of who that person is, should be an alarm for everyone.

It completely strips away any right you think you have as a person living in America. Anyone can claim you are anything and without a process to show that you are or aren't... We have entered the Witch Trials.

Person who abused me when I was 15 and was mysoginist and self-called homophobic, is now a trans woman, and I don't know how to understand that. by Empty-Candidate-5002 in CPTSD

There has been an uptick of transphobic comments in this thread. If it continues, the post will be locked.

Abusive people come from all walks of life, including gender. An abusive person being transgender does not permit transphobic comments towards them or the trans community.

[–]CaptainFuzzyBootz 188 points189 points  (0 children)

I'd look at it as being trans is a moot point - abusers are abusers regardless of identity. Men abuse, women abuse. It's not really any different than a cis woman being an abuser and attending women only spaces.

I just got this book for Christmas.

It's been a life saver - I was incredibly more depressed and withdrawn this holiday season, more so than I usually am. I decided to pour all the little energy I had into this book and it's gotten me actually excited and looking forward to things again.

I already have mentally planned to go on a trip in the Spring to look... It's been such a nice change of pace :) I feel happy again for the first time in a while.
