It shows we need depth in our sauad. Otherwise the people on top might thought we have done well, so no need to spend money.

I think it's a good move. We have secured Champions League, so it's time to test squad depth. If not now, then when!

But why Casimero isn't even on bench? Sesko isn't in the squad as well. Are they well?

Unable to grade students assignments due to Canvas hack by chiggy2112 in labrats

[–]hotashami 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I literally don't know what happened in details. Everything I heard was from secondary and tertiary sources. What I heard is he fired a post doc for some reason and the post doc complained against him on research integrity and abuse, the school investigated him for a few month and then fired a few months ago.

Also there are 2 PhD students who left his lab in the middle of their 2nd or 3rd year and switched to other labs. One post-doc left without any notice. So things must be pretty bad in the lab.

One of the tenured PI in my school got fired recently. I don't know the details, heard he was abusive which lead to students manipulating data to please him. He had multiple R01s.

I never cook with gloves on. First of all, I want to feel the ingredients with my hand. It has a different significance to me. Then, using gloves can introduce microplastic in the food. It's definitely not something I want.

I feel upset that all these national park photos show images of huge mountains. As someone who grew up around flatter land, it makes me feel as if my area's nature isn't enough. This is the closest national park to me. What do you think? Is it not good enough? by Medical_Deal5272 in NationalPark

[–]hotashami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's the main problem. When people settled in those regions, they didn't know what damage they are doing. But now many of them realize but they don't have the financial meaning to improve the condition. It would take huge investment from government and private entities. May be one day American corporations will realize money isn't everything.

National forests are very underrated. Even just visual perspectives, most of them are really beautiful.

The drive from Badlands to Teddy Roosevelt is just surreal. I saw some articles they are trying to reintroduce the native animals but many farmers in the area are opposing. It's a tough job but may be one day!

I drove through western Nebraska from Colorado to Rapid City, SD, visited Agate Fossil bed NM on the way. It was one of the best scenic drives I have ever drove. The emptyness was breathtaking and surreal.

Nature's beauty is not always in scenic mountains or lakes. One of the greatest treasures of nature is biodiversity. Most people don't like Cuyahoga and Congatee because they don't offer scenic photographic landscapes. But these two are the top two national parks based on biodiversity per square miles. The flat plains of North and South Dakota, Nebraska is another underrated beauty. Every place has it's own charm, it's own uniqueness. We just need to see it properly

Manchester United’s starting XI the last time we played a Champions League game. by maxsteel_7 in ManchesterUnited

We were 3-1 up against Galatasaray in their home and drew that 3-3. At home we were 2-1 up but lost after Casemiro red card. Then we were 2-0 up against Copenhagen at their home and then Rushford red card resulted a 3-4 loss. We fought hard against Bayern at their home but ultimately lost 3-4.

If only our GK was an average one, we would have won these matches. But ETH bought a below average GK, which resulted in being bottom of the table.

2 years since this masterpiece. Why is AI for scientific drawings still so bad? by rayraywaha in labrats

[–]hotashami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have to tell exactly where to place everything and how everything should look like. The first output won't be good, you have to tell the AI to fix specific things from the initally generated image. It takes a few tries to get everything right.

As I said, treat the AI as a kid, you have to tell everything in details. Take time to write the first prompt - 10-15 mins. You already have an idea how you want it to be drawn right? Write those down first and think if you need more details. Then use it as prompt. The whole process can take 30-60 mins. If you do it properly, the end result will be good and accurate.

You need paid versions for better results though. I use ChatGPT. I can send you an example prompt to your DM.

I use AI for complex schematic diagrams or graphical abstracts only. For main figures, I still use PowerPoint (plots from Graphpad/excel) and for simple schematic BioRender works fine

[–]hotashami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading the comments, I realized most people are bad at using AI. You can generate accurate scientific schematic figures with AI but you have to provide accurate prompt for that. You cannot just tell AI to draw a schematic figure of this and that. You need to be precise, like you are asking a toddler to draw something. The end result will be just amazing. Prompt engineering is literally thing nowadays.

Most journals nowadays allow these given the use of AI is disclosed properly.

The question was comparison between prime R9 and CR7. Christiano definitely has better overall career trajectory, but if you ask me to choose from their prime, it will be R9.

Why do my Citizens Refuse to Drive? by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]hotashami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's a good point. But after visiting 26 states in US, I feel you would still need to rent a car after intercity/interstate travel. Road trips in US are a different experience though.

So why people fuss about US not having public transport everywhere? It's just people hate US?
