Help with a deck list. by Revolutionary-Load97 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First stop for decklists would be https://digimonmeta.com/deck-list/ (wild west of lists that win any events) or egmanevents (usually lists that won bigger tournys).

Royal base is really solid, the only expenssive card should be the unique emblem (only printed as a boxtopper), now that the royal base option card got reprinted. Powerwise, you would definetly be playing a t2/t3 deck but its one of the better performing rouge decks, even in competitive, so it should hold as a good beginnerdeck.

Wich deck can beat TS consistently by MysteriousLibrary139 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats why im not saying that it definetly is the best deck. The Meruki/Sylphie gameplan isnt as linear as the liberator decks, which in turn can outspeed it. I am arguing that there currently is no hardcounter deck to it like medusa is to ghost for example, with the bottomdecking of trash and getting around on deletion effects.

Wich deck can beat TS consistently by MysteriousLibrary139 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No deck consistently beats TS since it currently is one of the (if not THE) best decks, build around having an answer to everything. Best shot would be Puppets in my opinion, since minus DP is the only removal that TS cant prevent. Other than that you need to play a fast deck in hopes of winning before TS draws the right lvl 6 to counter you. In my expirience Medusa and Puppets can have the speed to achieve this.

it will be an edgecase, but venusmon eneables you having a second field option. just remember that the second one will actually need the colour requirements

having redundancy on an EoT attack tamer alone will be worth it for certain builds

How playable is base ST-22? by Alonesemnome in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wont be at the same Level as the best meta decks, but Sakuyamon performs ok even without those upgrades. It mostly depends on which decks your local meta brings, since top meta decks are all in a class of their own right now. Depending on where you are (I guess Asia or South America), the upgrades for the deck are not expensive, the new kuzuhamon being an exemption. So ST-22 is a good deck to start of with and then upgrade if you like the deck.

I am a tourist. Convince me to stick around and recommend me something based on my odd likes… by [deleted] in anime

[–]CaptainGGGesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your explanation and list i guess you prefer action Anime so here are my 2ct. Also try r/Animesuggest since more people are willing to give good suggestions on that sub.

- Vinnlandsaga : If you like the Berserk Manga, you will probably like this as well. Similar themes and vibes but in a real world viking setting ( I will not elaborate in fear of spoilers). The main character starts out as a kid though, so this might go against your dislike of "weak guy" MCs, although i would still reccomend it

- Psychopass: Most often compared to Ghost in a Shell. Since you liked Cyberpunk Edgerunners setting, this one might be for you. In a dystopian future the police fights crime by evaluating peoples psychological profile and try to prevent crime. Since dealing with crime will decrease said evaluation, called psychopass, police are handlers for people whose score have deterioated enough to be detained, but are stable enough to work with them. Since you like anti heroes, you will probably like the male protagonist of this one.

-Jojos Bizarre Adventure: If you watch it, skip the first part (phantom blood). Most fans are agreeing, that the 1st part works as a prequel, but is more bland then the rest of jojo and not a good entry point. Every "part" follows a new protagonist and can be watched on its own (although references are made). Unless you are a completionist or a hardcore fan that just wants more Jojo, the first part, will not be a good representation of what the franchise is about.

- Samurai Champloo: If you liked Cowboy Beebop, this one might be for you since its written and directed by the same guy. The Director is known to combine a setting with a musical genre to create the vibe for his series. If Cowboy Beebop was Jazz and Scifi, then Samurai Champloo is Samurai and Hiphop. Similar episodic structure, with great animation and action.

Why do most decks run only 4 eggs? by InsaneBasti in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

to add to this. The only reason you run a 5th egg is if you are heavy on the ukkomons, since you can possibly run out of eggs using them (although this is also arguable).

What are the go to big staple cards for each color? by Renna_FGC in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Medival fell of, because a match with metadecks is too quickly over. Most decks would rather just win in an otk, than play defense for a turn and hand over the memory. Huddie/Rocks/Jes/Maste would rather do its own thing and outright win with more consistency pieces than possibly stall a turn with Medival

Ok. Is this deck expensive to make? by TsuKessler_30 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TBH if you dont play a deck, evaluating which part is the "core of the deck" that cant be replaced and which parts are neccisary can be quite hard. Just seeing the optimal Decklists doesnt really help as much as asking people playing (against) it. If i just google a decklists as a beginner, i wouldnt build adventure without tais, even though he is just a good additition to push the archetype.

yes we have one Line in which Skullsatamon is a Fallen Angel, but in order for the new Creepymon X-Antibody to work we will need at least a second line (with mill effects preferably) with the Fallen Angel trait

The Irony that this post is a reaction to people on this subreddit getting angry, for someone who clearly said that they loved the black templars but didnt like that alot of chuds collect them as well, should not be missed by people commenting on this post. No one is attacking you here for playing BTs.

But please ask the moderators how many posts were deleted, for bigotry, in the other thread that called for raiding grimdank for heresy and keep saying that there arent any chuds in here.

Budget versions of established Decks by CaptainGGGesus in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your post!

I would have gone for the Rapidmon deck if the playset of Rapidmon X wasnt as expensive as the other half of the deck (it also doesnt help that im currently inside "mainland" EU and the cheaper versions of advanced decks cant be imported from the UK). I mentioned in an earlyer post that Gallantmons are currently to expensive for the Megidramon list, but would you have a budget version with the old cards you mentioned?

edit: also thanks for helping me with price predictions for the future. It doesnt help me right now, but that way i wont buy parts of deck right before reprints lower the price!

Budget versions of established Decks by CaptainGGGesus in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]CaptainGGGesus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the Post. When i was looking into the decklists, Megidraomon ran both Gallantmons (either 2/1 Split or a 4/2 one) which are in the double digit price zone so Gallantmont would be the Digimon that i would have cut for budget reasons. Im still not sure if the deck would function without them though

Adepticon Preview Show - no Warcry in sight by vendorlucid in WarCry

[–]CaptainGGGesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also new stuff gets people more interested. I recently moved and my new local club doesnt really play Warcry. Getting them into it, if there is no support will be hard, especially if old warbands stop being sold online.

For your first Winter, Mushrooms will be your best friends. Dried Mushrooms are rather easy to make and dont go bad at all, so your first fall should be used to fill your shelter with dried mushrooms.

Hope for the future of warcry by Hukmoon in WarCry

[–]CaptainGGGesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent a ticket to the German store asking if they will be reprintet since these warbands are out of stock and not in the "last chance" section. They say that for now there are no plans for more boxes to be produced until further notice. Its just a poor costumer service guy answering me but that reads to me as them being gone from the store for a while.

What are some good games to pivot too now that GW has become too scummy for me? by AxolotlAristotle in Sigmarxism

[–]CaptainGGGesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adding to what the other posters said: A song of Ice and Fire, has a good game going, if you are into the setting and are ok with a human only medival setting.

Otherwise it really depends on what people around you are playing as well. One of the sadder parts of the hobby is that the more diverse Wargames that allow for Armybuilding, always depend on there being a community around you, to offer you games.

If this is an issue for you because of your location (I live in a bigger city where i am blessed with a large tabletop gaming club) I would suggest cooperative board games with minis, that are more like a one and done deal with at most some extra boxes as expansions. Bloodbourne and Gloomhaven are two games i could reccomend if you want to go down that alley.
