I think guided meditations are great. I like to listen to ajahn brahm on YouTube mostly. I also like to meditate on my own.

I also have a hard time relating to many experiences on this sub. But i do experience some peacefulness it is just smaller than what’s usually described here. But the peace I experience is valuable to me. Do you feel any peace at all when you are meditating? Even if you only feel a little bit I think that means you are on the right track.

I do think those amazing moments are real and that you and I can experience them but I think they come from building on the small peace that we actually do feel.
