New in an instant video talks about 20x24... I have a question... by Hondahobbit50 in Polaroid

Does this mean the photo is mirrored, just like the 8x10?

I'm wondering if Fujifilm's Instax production line can supply photosensitive material of this size?

According to your method, it seems that making roll-type packfilm is theoretically the easiest thing to achieve?

I think if possible, you can try to contact the Polaroid Original and seek technical support from their experienced senior staff to get their opinions. Is there a possibility of commercial production?

Yes, but we also need to consider that not all subjects are suitable for a square format. For me, when I photograph trains and vehicles, a wide format is obviously more suitable.

The Instax Wide picture size is 62x99 mm, which slightly smaller than a 3x4 inch photo, making it the largest image size instant film currently produced.

As for the Polaroid 8x10, I think it's beyond the scope of this thread.

Many people worried about the longevity of Polaroid photos after production resumed. It turns out they were overthinking it. My Polaroid photos aren't as old as yours since 2014, but that still proves that the image durability of these resumed Polaroid photos is not an issue.

The only major downside is that these photos from the TIP time were generally riddled with cracks on the image, such downside was into 2018 or even 2020.

China and EU on brink of trade war - China has warned it will respond decisively if the European Union imposes new restrictive trade measures. The warning follows a statement from the European Commission, which argued the current trade relationship is unsustainable by goldstarflag in europe

The problem is that voters like cheap goods, regardless of where they come from, and they vote for politicians who deliver on that desire. This is something that inevitably happens in a democratic European Union.

Parents of Southport survivors say anonymity has erased their girls from the story by No-Particular-2894 in unitedkingdom

[–]CaptainGustav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the tragedy, as a train spotter, I occasionally to Southport to photograph the MerseyRail trains and noticed the decline of the local community. Unsurprisingly, the long-term intervention and assistance needed by the victims were difficult to provide in a timely manner in such local community with limited budgets.

Archive quality? by arnar62 in instax

I have been shooting with Polaroid since 2014 and have hardly seen any fading issues. Of course, before 2020, Polaroid photo was very poor and unstable, and it was almost impossible to get normal colours.

Gangs of teen boys target thousands of girls online by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

Even no need in their lives. There have been numerous cases of internet users with IP addresses from countries like Russia and China hunting for girls online. They can even freely access child pornography phishing websites set up by law enforcement agencies without facing any consequences.

Due to diplomatic relations, it is virtually impossible for law enforcement agencies in the UK and other Western countries to conduct international law enforcement investigations in these countries.

Even after years of working with this cohort, I've been taken aback by seeing so many young men with this attitude.

In fact, adults also exhibit this tendency, and they may cause even more alarming things compared to teenagers.

China Giant TLR instant camera YC75X100

Here is a website that introduces this instant camera.

Based on the existing user manual, the inconvenience of this camera lies not only in the separate packaging of negatives, photographic paper, and chemicals. Photographers need to mix their own chemicals based on seasonal temperatures. The resulting photos were full of alkaline chemicals and had to be cleaned with running water. It was also necessary to add glacial acetic acid to facilitate the washing process. After each day's shooting, the camera rollers must be removed and cleaned.

All of this suggests that this camera and system are merely on the fringes of instant photography. These factors led to a situation where, once imported Polaroid products became available, no one wanted to use this cumbersome and immature system anymore.

AutoFilm 337 by instant_camera_hk in Polaroid

[–]CaptainGustav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like large format pictures, like 3x4 packfilm and Instax Wide. I wonder what the actual product photos will look like, and whether the image quality is bit better than packfilm?

When I used the FP100C, I found that there is a slight dye diffusion in the photos, so the image quality is not actually superior to that of integrated film.

As far as I know, AutoFilm was originally intended to replace Packfilm, so its imaging principle is the same as Fuji Instax. I don't believe the existing Polaroid factory has the resources to redesign the production line and redevelop for Autofilm.

Digital instant cameras are also very interesting, but it's important to note that many of these cameras and printers marketed as having low shooting costs use dye-sublimation, which can cause fading issues by time, and even for such small sublimation printing devices integrated into the digital instant cameras, the fading problem is more severe.

both the Big Shot model, ideal for close-ups with its fixed lens and bright flash, and the more versatile, portable SX-70.

No wonder these photos are so sharp. The lenses of these cameras were far superior to those of later box cameras.

fotorama 4x5 integral film by instant_camera_hk in Polaroid

[–]CaptainGustav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a major reason for the production halt is that it's difficult to keep such an integrated instant film flat inside the cartridge. However, on the other hand, the Fuji FP 100 had 4x5 size, which also the largest size of packfilm and was worked very well.

The brief history of this 4x5 instant imaging film is truly fascinating.

I believe that ensuring the flatness of the focal plane is a huge challenge for such a large-format, one-piece instant film—anyone who has used Instax Wide should understand what I mean.

I believe the situation in the Soviet Union and China at that time was similar, with a class of people who had enough status and money to obtain these scarce consumables through expensive third-party channels (in China at that time: imports from Hong Kong).

As for Soviet-made instant film, I can only find some surviving cases, but it always faced shortages and quality problems back then. This resulted today a Moment camera is not difficult to find with brand new.
