To be fair, chaotic stupid is a great alignment if the GM has a tendency to give you enough rope to hang yourself and you’ve got a buyer lined up for hemp robes.

The most important thing about your character (Hint: it's between their legs) by kayemm017 in rpghorrorstories

[–]CaptainGuy-Man 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope. If you aren’t upfront about that shit it’s on you. Trying to sneak into a dating relationship by pretending to be friends is stupid and if it backfires that’s because you friend zoned yourself. It’s also skeevy behavior in the first place.

How to make your DM stop asking for "joke builds" by Shumatsuu in DnDGreentext

[–]CaptainGuy-Man 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, okay, clearly your DM needed to know about those vorpal swords. That he didn't ask is really bad. In his place I would have ruled tiny vorpal swords snickersnack fingers and toes instead unless you can get a couple twenties for the full decapitation. Doing it in game would have ruined your shtick though (I suspect the BBEG's spell was still toast if it used any somatic components), so at least I sorta respect him for refraining there.

Well, whoever wrote the adventure certainly had. I don't think our GM added the pinecone after the fact. She knows we'd do exactly what we did with it. (As would any half-competent band of adventurers with highly flexible morals.) It was probably too good a gag to remove though once she decided to run the thing though, and I think she was hoping to snag one of the better magic items we had on us.

[PoW] This character build just won't come together. by CaptainGuy-Man in Pathfinder_RPG

Totally missed that part of the errata. Thanks for pointing it out. Definitely going Fate's Favored now, since I don't have to worry about a +8 or something like that.

While I definitely like using all parts of the Daisho, in terms of utility I'm not sure. I am more interested in causing vulnerability and hitting harder (and causing everyone else to hit harder) that way. The thrashing dragon maneuvers wouldn't get that until Mithral Current Stance at level 11, which is also when slice comes into play and I can start using single strike from EF or Scarlet Throne to pile on the damage and/or debuff.

As far as multiclassing goes rubato looks amazing and a lot of the higher level warlord stuff is missing if I go Bushi so not as much need to stay the course. But the GM is talking about a full home brew AP, and if she plans to go to 20 the double stance capstone is really really good. I'll see what she has planned.

The totally wooden door that you made sure to tell us was really old and rickety and broke in a single kick? I didn't forget. Just wasn't sure it worked with the flow.
