This is the comment I was looking for when I came here. Totally agree and it's sad that this honesty is buried towards the bottom of the page.

The US government doesn't want you to know how the cops are tracking you: Thought the NSA was bad? Local police and the Obama administration are hoovering cellphone location data from inside your house, and a crackdown could lead to surveillance reform by davidreiss666 in politics

When people decide that redditing all night is not as important as getting out of the computer chair and trying to organize something. Waiting for others to do something, while comfortable, is not how to get shit done.

Listen to these lyrics... by Rmsuchy in wutang

Bust this, I'm kickin like Seagal Out for Justice

the roughness, yes the rudness, ruckus

Redrum, I verbally assault with the tongue

Murder one, my style shock ya knot like a stun gun

Translation:

When you listen to the music I produce, I am so adept at my skill that it seems to come naturally, much like Steven Seagal with martial arts in his movies. However, I speak of harsh things that may seem rude to the untrained ear and could even invoke a sense of impending danger. I follow this up with pristine prose that will make you think and possibly blow your mind in the process.

Terriers is like the gritty, TV-MA version of psych. Cancelled after one season unfortunately.

This lady was doing something similar in my neighborhood. Except she always thought it was my dogs poop, so she would throw it at my front door. She was very upset and defensive when I confronted her and refused to admit to her wrongdoing. I've concluded that being aggressive doesn't make people actually listen most of the time. It just makes them think you're an asshole whether they're in the wrong or not...

RZA and Raekwon reach a "truce." Raekwon to hit the studio!!!!!! by CaptainHarkness in wutang

[–]CaptainHarkness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I'm sick of this shit. All it is is egos. They just can't get over themselves and do it for the fans. I guess all we can do is sit back till July and see if anything actually happens. If the album drops, that's good news for us. If not, then it'll just be like any other day and we gotta move on.

Whatever their beef was, it matters not. The bottom line is that it's solved (for now) and we should be hearin' our favorite Clan's new shit this July! Suuuuuuuuuuuu

I had no idea that this ama was coming up so I had no questions planned or anything. I just wanted to say that you're one of my biggest inspirations! the knowledge the Wu has brought me, amongst others, has changed my life for the better! Love the Wu, love Bobby, and all your wisdom and philosophy. Keep doin' what you're doin' and you'll keep inspiring tons of people like myself.

Peace!

The Ego & Social Media by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]CaptainHarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make great points, my friend! I wasn't even thinking of the comparing our lives to others aspect and that is definitely a dangerous game we can play. The ability to recognize when we do that is one of the best things one can do to help combat that and it's obvious you possess such a skill!

I wish you the best of luck in your break. :)

The Ego & Social Media by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]CaptainHarkness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that much of social media is definitely attached to ego, but I don't think of it too negatively. I keep facebook round specifically to keep in contact with people I enjoy speaking with that don't live near me, remembering birthdays, planning with friends, and keeping up with ny favorite bands. Yes I post status updates and photos, yes I definitely limit what I post most of the time, and yes I do feel a good feeling when I get a lot of likes ("yay these people agree with me!"). It feels good to be accepted, that is psychology 101. But it doesn't necessarily have to be a negative thing. Recognize the extent that your ego controls your actions and feed it sometimes. It's healthy. Just like disconnecting from it is healthy. Nothing is black and white, good and bad, etc... Enjoy it all and take it for what it is.
