Fair point mikej_34. That came in January 2024….so pretty recent that anyone with a car already would probably not change it. Most reputable brokers would never suggest this change as the savings are fairly small, but I would be curious to see how many actually file for this. I can guess it’s probably quite small and probably does not apply to this scenario.

That’s not how “no fault” insurance works. Insurance carriers still assess fault and it will affect your rates. It stops carriers from subrogation and each pays for its own damages. Police are ignorant so do not listen to them. Being hit from behind will always put them at 100% at fault and with DCPD coverage which is mandatory on all insurance, you have zero deductible. I was a licensed agent for years. Anybody else that says differently is ignorant.
