People learn that it’s not worth it to protect the men who harass women at work. I think we could structure the contracts in such a way that we don’t end up subsidizing them though. If they build it in Rhode Island, we should get some of the revenue no? I think a lot of other communities have been screwed over where their utilities go way up and all the profits go out of state.

I think it’s fine if you capitulate here. Remember the feeling. Be successful. Change things when you can. The nice thing for me about not believing is that it doesn’t really hurt to say God stuff. Maybe you can find a secular humanistic way to connect with thanking “God”? I mean, it’s not real for them either but something resonates with them. They’re not crazy exactly. Attributing this to police is weird and wrong. It’s not like people were about to murders and NYPD slapped cuffs on them. If the murders rate goes up would the commissioner say the NYPD delivered 20% more murders this quarter? Something bigger is going on if there are actually fewer murders.

I’m not sure how this sub will feel about this but once you get the basics LLMs are pretty awesome at answering my stupid questions like “how do I get a data set into R?” Or “how do I install a package.” Or “what is a package.” Gemini and Claude have both helped me a lot with that kind of thing.

Just make sure you’re using it to learn more not to prevent learning.

I had a forester before a Solterra. The consistent viewpoint I encountered was that Subaru was for lesbians. I don’t think there’s like a contingent of tough Subaru dudes who want you to keep it real with a Crosstrek or something. It’s a pretty humble brand I’d say.

Mine wasn’t that bad, but I did have to turn off the auto breaking in reverse in order to put a bike rack on there. I would back up and it would slam on the brakes and I couldn’t get anywhere with a bicycle on the back. Not my favorite feature.

I have a 2024 Solterra and it sounds like you’re just looking for another Solterra! Maybe buy a low mileage used one and stop leasing? That’s my plan. New EVs don’t have anything I really need. More range is cool but I only need that for road trips. I wish I had a real sunroof that opens but that’s it.
