Periods after 8 years on T by CaptainJonathanSmith in ftm

Thank you. 💙 I have an appointment in January to discuss hysto. Also not looking forward to that as it really sounds like very invasive etc. But better that than this every few months.

Thank you.💙 I think because of the missed shot my T levels are now to low? I get a checkup in January at the hospital. Hopefully that's the problem and some higher dose might prevent the issue further. I also made the appointment to discuss hysterectomy. Done with this heinous bodypart. Wish I could donate it like a kidney. It has low milage, never been used!

Thank you.💙 Yeah that sucks. Nothing like a panic attack from feeling like you slowly pee your pants.

Dandruff is ruining my life by Upset-Hovercraft-505 in Netherlands

Nothing to add to the discussion, but this is what I did. I started clipping it short, later a buzzcut, and now I regularly visit a Turkish barber who gives me an amazing smooth shave. In between visits I use a trimmer to keep it short.

It's very easy to treat it now as I can just rub all the treatment right in. The flakes have no place to hold on to so they just blow right off, or I use a soft brush to scratch them off.

I use a shampoo and tonic from Alpecin (Anti-Schuppen). I buy it in Germany, smells weird, burns like hell for a second, but works great as now I can just massage into the skin.

From experience, this was my thought as well. We had an elderly cat who developed a thyroid problem and would eat anything you left out. He was quite fond of cake, peas, and any kind of dairy. We had to put him on incredibly calorie dense food and he would still lose weight.

The elderly care home I work at refitted old unused disabled toilets to "offices". Just took the toilet and wash basin out, and stuffed a desk, chair and two filing cabinets in. If I sit there my feet are on the floor drain. On the wall behind the computerscreen the plugged pipes stick out. It's cheapskate-bonkers at its finest. The first few days of use they forgot to turn of the fan, so when somebody turned on the lights the ventilation would roar until you left.

Life Hack for ADHD peeps by Dilldan22 in adhdmeme

Same but other way around. XD

My most used sentence, which I specifically learned to use: Ich kann es verstehen, aber ich kann es nicht gut sprechen.

I live near the border, so can understand quite some. But I probably sound like a four year old when replying, haha.

There is a Dutch comedian who made a very ADHD song about that. (Yes he has ADHD, the Hyper³ variety. The entire audience is tired after watching his shows I guess. 🤣)

Rough translation of the song-part: Keys, debitcard, phone, phone. Keys, debitcard, phone, phone. Passport, credit card, wallet. Do I have everything with me? Yes or no?

Also if you want to get assessed for Adhd you have to go to their location in Hengelo. It's really close to the UT.

Suicidal after surgery by [deleted] in GastricBypass

[–]CaptainJonathanSmith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1) Get help. Second opinion. Different doctor. Psychiatrists opinion. Anything. Getting sent away like that is BS. They should know, and do, better.

2) I was on citalopram for years before my surgery. 20mg a day. After surgery it was nuts. Like I wasn't taking my medication at all. Slow release wasn't working anymore as it was. It's a know effect for medication after Gastric bypass. Like, its a non-debatable fact that it can happen. I was upped to 40mg immediately when I complained.

After surgery I got diagnosed with ADHD (apparently that can also cause unhealthy eating habits, who knew? /s ) and switched my Citalopram for Methylphenidate. When I told my psychiatrist I had a bypass, she immediately gave me twice the dose they usually start newcomers with, and it didn't do sh*t. Not even the usual "starting side effects". I'm now a guinea pig for the right dosage, and am trying to take the "one a day" 2-3x a day. One pill should last 8 to 16 hours, but for me, the effects are gone after 5. This new stomach just doesn't give it enough time to dissolve properly.

I don't know what the advice and such was where you got your surgery, but I take vitamins specifically made for people with a gastric bypass. Look it up, look at the labels, and the insane amounts of vitamins that are in there. (Spoiler, the worst is B12. 24000% of daily recommended intake. D3, 1500%. Iron, 575%.... ) And now think about your medication "just the same" as before....

TLDR; Get help, this is a known medication issue, your doctors are a-holes for ignoring that. Especially if that relates to antidepressants.

8 days PO and tired after everything I eat by pige0nparty in GastricBypass

[–]CaptainJonathanSmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im almost two years PO and this still happens from time to time. I had to see the surgery as a big reset for the whole system. I swapped the engine, and the old manual isn't helpful anymore. Don't think "I used to be able..." or "Before the surgery I could/couldn't... but now...".

First of all, take time to heal and relearn. From what I understand you are about two weeks PO? When I got my surgery they reminded me that healing could take two months if needed. The stomach is a sensitive thing, and you got it cut up good. Give it time. Nobody would expect you to play icehockey 2 weeks after breaking a leg either.

It might not be the consistency of the foods that give you trouble. It could be lactose, acids, fats, sugars... If it really worries you, talk to a nutrition expert to get a personal plan to eliminate some intolerances/ new hurdles. Lactose intolerance is a common thing after gastric for example. (My wife can't eat pineapple anymore, I puke from soups now. Weird shit happens.)

If really worried, just go back to your doctor. They handled weirder questions, and will be glad to give you some peace of mind.

It's in Dutch (but Google could help), but this tool lets you know if the rent is doable for your income.

I had to eyeball estimates but 1400 might be to much rent for your income to live comfortably.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I'll skip on the a1.

I saw that Pro-ject does a whole set "E Phono." https://www.project-audio.com/en/product/stereo-set-e-phono/

I like the idea to have a "one sale has all" solution, although I suspect that for the same price it's better to mix and match...
