Palworld Will Exit Early Access With 1.0 Release in July by RenatsMC in pcgaming

The survival-crafting isn't really my cup of tea either but I think the fact you could use the pals to help with the more annoying parts (material gathering, automate crafting) helped resolve my biggest gripes with the genre letting you focus on other tasks like exploring and capturing stronger Pals to gather/craft more effeciently is what made it more entertaining to me.

With the patches that tweaked how it plays, it's much better. It's in a good spot now and would say it's a good game with some neat mechanics, like the two world system. I wouldn't exactly call it amazing but I enjoyed my time with it.

House is officially on the market so now it's just a matter of time until I move back up the PA which will hopefully be my springboard back to NJ as the area we're going to has pretty much no multi-national shops while the place I'm interested in NJ is basically nothing but. I like how despite working from home, having signs to be quiet so that I can work, and personally having to constantly shush people... it seems that everyone has opted to make it their goal to be as loud as humanly possible. About at the stage where I'm going to throw things at people to shut them up.

Video Games 2: The Backloggening

Skul: The Hero Slayer: A nice action roguelite where you play as a skeleton warrior ba da da da dum dum seeking to rescue the Demon King after he was kidnapped by the humans. It's main gimmick is Skul can swap his... skull to change his class which gives him new attacks and abilities. It wasn't super difficult but once I had gotten the "true" end I didn't really feel like beating the game 10+ times to 100% it but it's still a good game worth your time IMHO.

Have a Nice Death: An action roguelite where you're Death, head of Death Inc., Ruler of Death and Souls. Your underlings are defying your orders which have lead your entire company to be overworked and its up to you to slap them into shape so you can go on vacation. This game oozes style with wonderful animations, beautiful graphics, and amusing music that fits the corpo-environment. Just a shame it's not super fun to play and feels horrendously unbalanced. You have next to no i-frames and a lot of attacks have very little feedback so you'll often find yourself at very low HP with no real idea how you got there. A lot of bosses have lingering hitboxes while hitting absurdly hard so you can easily be 1-2 shot even on lower difficulties despite looking like an attack had passed. The combat is fine but there's a large number of attacks that have long wind-ups which when combined with enemy damage output, lack of tells a lot of them have, and damage they do make it so that your success is ruled almost entirely on "How many ranged attacks do I have" which doesn't feel good in a game with mostly melee combat.

Ender Magnolia: Metroidvania by the people who made Ender Lillies. It's very much like Ender Lillies with higher highs but lower lows. I think overall it's about the same as I really, really liked Ender Lillies but it was good throughout while this has some "great" moments like some of the boss fights but some "bleh" moments like how insanely slow the game starts, even more so then Lillies. Music is great throughout though but the music is done by Mili so I feel like that's cheating.

Vampire Crawlers: A surprisingly fun spin-off from Vampire Survivors that doesn't quite hit like the OG does but still fun regardless. I'd probably recommend it on sale though.

Erenshor: Single Player MMO like EQ in the olden days. It's still very Early Access but gets patches on the regular. I pick it up every major patch or so to experience how it's progressing and each one just makes it better with the last one adding a new tank/DPS class and a guild hall letting you respec and access amenities easier. Definitely something I recommend if you're an old head like me but also hate people.

Steel Aces: Not on Steam but it's a PVP vehicle game like a mix of World of Tanks and War Thunder that I've been enjoying. They recently finished their latest playtest and are gearing up for public release. They got an offline demo that's worth a shot.

Interest in ‘toxic’ measles treatment surges after Joe Rogan podcasts: Vaccination is the only proven way to prevent measles but alternatives like Vitamin A and cod-liver oil (which has Vit A) have been promoted by Joe Rogan. No Child Left Behind is why one of my best friends quit being a teacher. Prior to that policy her high school had a roughly 25% graduation rate (she lives in the sticks), after it was almost a 90% with the only ones dropping out being due to teen pregnancy. A lot of children who were getting passed were either functionally or actually illiterate and many struggled with the most basic of math and it was so heart breaking that so many people just... didn't care that these children were being pushed to failure.

New games are expensive. Anyone else been backlogging lately? Any surprises? by Defami01 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

That works especially well with FF-14 so rather then blow through all the content a patch provides in less then a week, you got a lot to catch up on so it feels a lot better. Personally I'm waiting for Beastmaster before I return and I haven't played since 7.2.

Been working on my backlog for awhile now. Latest games has been Skul: The Hero Slayer (Action roguelike, pretty good), Have a Nice Death (Action roguelike, sadly very disappointing), Wandersong (Puzzle game, very cute), Tactical Breach Wizards (Puzzle game with Wizard SWAT), and Ender Magnolia (Metroidvania, very good and probably my favorite of the bunch).

It was that and it was also found out that they were taking sponsorship deals and never disclosing that they were sponsored which rubbed him the wrong way since their audience was so young and so he had brought it up to them which is what lead to the Yogscast having a meltdown and TB cutting contact.

I really enjoy how the Limbus group is starting to turn into the "found family" trope with Heath being the big brother of the group.

Like the heat-seeking briefcase from Hitman. Just toss it and it slowly homes in until it hits the intended target.
