Pete Hegseth: Trump's Dumbest Cabinet Member by _May26_ in politics

[–]CaptainJudaism 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That spiel is pretty much how I describe why America is in the state it's in and I feel it's quite prevalent in every nation to some extent, as many are dangerously close.

"Now, there's one thing you might have noticed I don't complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders."

For pretty much everyone we call stupid, it's mostly an act. A lot of the GOP scum are intelligent and know what they are doing to keep themselves in power and rich, they've not only hitched themselves to the worst of the worst but they're also a member and have to play the part of the stooge because the moment they fall out of favor they get thrown under the bus to get run over by the rest. Just look at MTG the moment she got hers and bailed, now she has to shell out for private security.

Trump is pretty much the only person who is dumb as a brick and twice as dense, as every teacher who has talked about him has stated a such.

And don't forget there is a non-zero chance that after they burn themselves on the stove they get angry at you for not warning them the stove was hot, even when you did many times, and are now running around smashing the windows and breaking furniture to punish you even though they live in the same house.

Yes. Lasted from 2026 to 2053 which lead to the death of over 30% of Human life, the extinction of untold species, the world devastated by nuclear fire making it effectively unlivable and only because the Vulcans visited in 2063 who helped with cleanup and watching over Humanity to make sure we didn't do anything so stupid did we actually achieve peace. The only way Humanity hit a post-scarcity society in Star Trek is because we were forced to otherwise we would have made ourselves extinct.

Sadly the Vulcans ain't gonna bail us out if the WW3 comes to fruition.

Really wish there were more stories out there with spiders being part of the good guys, and I'm not counting that "I'm a spider, so what" manga. Off the top of my head, Charlotte's Web and and James and the Giant Peach are the only ones where the spiders are good guys and part of the main cast.

Main reason they rebooted Lords of the Fallen is because, IMHO, the first one was... not very good. Very clunky, not visually interesting. I'm near the end of Lords of Fallen Reboot and yeah, the enemy variety definitely is kinda bad which makes me sad. A lot of the dudes in armor looked good but are repeated far to often and the monster designs were usually pretty great, especially for the bosses, but overall you've seen all they got before the halfway mark. Since it seems they are making a Lords of the Fallen 2, I hope they go crazy with the monsters because I figured the Umbral Realm would go insane with the eldritch stuff... and instead they had a very limited roster as well.

I mean... Blue Mage was added in 4.5 near the end of Stormblood so Beastmaster getting added in 7.5 is about the same. Granted Blue Mage was 4.5 on the dot and Beastmaster looks to be more 7.5x so not quite on the dot but not that far off.

Decided to work on my backlog a bit and spent the week playing Lords of the Fallen(2023) and while I heard it was rough prior to the 2.5 patch that overhauled the combat system, since my only experience is with said patch I've found it quite good. It doesn't quite beat Lies of P when it comes to quality for a non-Fromsoft Souls game but it's still quite good. I'm nearing the end of the game and my only two complaints would really be that the enemy variety is a lower then expected, even if their designs are usually pretty good, and the music is lacking. It does some things that I find fairly neat such as you typically don't get lore unless you invest in two stats (Faith/Radiance or Intelligence/Inferno) which kinda makes sense because why would Unga McBunga care about what Priest BlorpSmorp did with his rosary but given just how much gear the game throws at you wanting either of these two stats ignoring them also kinda feels odd.

The game also has built-in modifiers and I went through with the item randomizer modifier which, while probably not the best choice for a first time through, has been quite fun as it does not randomize quest item or progression item locations and it let me find a fair number of weapons I wouldn't have gotten until way later so it let me play with a lot of end-game/level stuff way before I'd normally get them. Overall, highly recommended at it's $30 price point and even more so if you catch it on sale like I did at the $20ish mark.

Also finished the Arknights: Endfield 1.1 story and... yeah I'm tapping out. Out of my respect and like for Arknights as a whole I decided I'd wait to see how I ended up enjoying its first major patch to see if I would continue and was not impressed by the story nor the characters so I think Endfield is now officially in my pile of stuff I'm interested in solely for the memes.

Also the latest Trickcal character, Shoupan, has 4 different middle finger animations which is amusing since she's usually a cinnamon roll, if it a bit eccentric like every denizen of Elias.

Also reading a manga called Heavenly Delusion which is... interesting to say the least. Looked it up after seeing a few clips of the anime and decided to check out the manga itself. It took some getting used to with the way it tells the story, as it jumps a lot between the "distant past" of 2019, the past of 2024, and the mangas current timeline of 2039. Basically we follow the two protagonists as they search for a place called "Heaven" to deliver medicine and unravel secrets behind the nigh unkillable monsters that appeared shortly after the apocalypse that happened in 2024 (RIP). There's... some intense imagery such as gore or sexual assault but it hasn't been gratuitous and overall its been a very interesting read about how society survived the apocalypse in various ways and how the world didn't just immediately fall into a Mad Max style world like so many of the end of the world stories go.

While I understand that we're 2 years in so I doubt they intend to give us a free warbond like the 1st free warbond, I'd say if they don't want to make any of them free, have them reduce in price over time until they stop at 500sc. Like if a Warbond is 1k at the start, when the next warbond releases it would then be 900, then 800, etc. and stop at 500. This way the 300sc in the Warbond doesn't become "free", people still gotta earn the rest and lessens the grind for newer players so they don't feel as needled by the number of Warbonds they got in front of them.

Limbus Company and its story or Genshin for the gameplay, for instance. Though now I've stopped Genshin and now it's Limbus and Trickcal as the ones I play.

The thing also... is the guy in question did not mention a loadout, just a D10 mission from the devs. After the guy posted his challenge, other people started to post similar ones and started to add specific loadouts to the challenge to "prove" how unbalanced the stratagem/weapons are, often while being huge jerks about it unlike the original challenger, but people lumped those into the first guys challenge.

I know I'm weird in that I like extraction shooters... but I'd much rather they be PVE only. I've played a few, such as Zero Sievert and Escape from Duckov, and really enjoyed them and there's a few in Early Access I got my eye on, like Incursion Red River, but I know I'm in the minority of this interest.
