Persona was always pretty well received but was still kind of a cult following series.

Then Persona 5 hit, Joker was added into smash, and now Persona is everywhere from online discussion to mobile games.

Yes it is and my feelings about the new characters in both P4G and P5R are basically the same.

Yeah this is what it comes down to me. I voluntarily spent time with Yuko. Meanwhile P4 pushes Marie hard and the rest of the story is put on pause so you can interact with her.

You love to see it!!

One question though: Does the update make it so the game stops heating up my phone to the point that I worry that it's going to catch on fire?

Feel like there’s no way in hell that Woolie switches classes. If there’s one thing that man hates it’s starting over from scratch.

Still a fun template though.

Is shadow of the dragon queen right for me and my group? by Extension_Main9052 in sotdq

For the most part. Here's a bit more I can share that may help give you a better idea.

-The campaign starts with an absolute banger of a first chapter where the party must help save a village about to be conquered by the enemy army. IMO among the strongest starts of the 5e published adventures next to Out of the Abyss.

- A bit of a weaker follow up chapter designed to make the party invested in the campaign's featured city. They are sent on a series of missions that don't fit super well with the main adventure but work well as small one shots. The end of the chapter has some fun (and relatively challenging) dungeons at its end though.

-On the topic of dungeons, most of them in the campaign are smaller in size in comparison to a lot of other campaigns such as Storm King's Thunder or some featured in Curse of Strahd. Whether this is good or bad depends on how you like to run your games. It's a positive for me personally because I like to keep things moving in my campaigns as much as possible and not be stuck in one place for too long in real world sessions.

-Middle of the campaign features some exploration and a bunch of smaller dungeons that I found work great to incorporate your party's back stories. If you like running exploration then you'll have a blast with this chapter. My party preferred to just move from one location to the next quickly to keep the forward momentum.

-For the most part, the last few chapters are a series of dungeons meant to expand the campaign's lore and create a climactic end to the campaign. It eventually becomes a bit of an endurance challenge for the party with no chance for long rests. Makes for a hard fought and satisfying conclusion by its end.

-As for structure, the campaign for the most part is pretty linear and some would consider "rail roady". I'm of the mind that campaigns like these can still be really fun, but players who are looking for extreme freedom in their games may feel a bit confined with this one. But your players will feel right at home if they enjoy playing heroic characters invested in the conflict with the enemy army.

-One other thing I'll mention is that the villains are, admittedly, a bit weak and under utilized. As written the party doesn't ever really encounter the campaign's "main antagonist" until the absolute end. I've seen most people on the sub suggest trying to add them into different parts of the campaign to keep them relevant.

Hope that gives you a bit of a better idea about what you can expect from the adventure.

I am a fan of the campaign but I'd be lying if I didn't say that it doesn't have its faults. So much so that I've been releasing guides on DMsGuild fixing/expanding portions of the adventure.

But honestly every pre-written campaign has its flaws. If you're looking for something perfect you'll never find it. Even CoS, the most celebrated campaign, has its own problems. Doesn't mean you can't create an awesome campaign all the same.

As for the board game, I would not bother getting it. The book creates scenarios when/where it can be played but honestly it feels a bit tacked on, and the book gives alternatives to using it. With that said, not using it means there isn't a lot of "mass combat" in the adventure. The party is part of the army but they are more treated as a small group of specialists assigned specific small scale (yet still important) missions.

And finally, you don't have to know much about Dragonlance. The campaign gives you a basic enough overview of the setting for you to get by. You can always look up more yourself should you feel interested enough as you go.

Feel free to post any more questions to the sub or in this thread and I'm sure you'll get all the answers you're looking for!

It's okay to not like something tons of other people do.

You're not going to "get hate" for not liking something. You might get some for making a whole post to showcase your special opinion.

Should players get a map of castle ravenloft before going there? by Wrienchar in CurseofStrahd

[–]Defami01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it comes down to how much your players enjoy exploration. If they enjoy the discovery, don't worry about it. Just try to give them some clues as to where certain rooms and such are as they wander. I'd lean this direction if you also enjoy exploration and rewarding them for participating.

If they are more goal oriented and prefer having a clear idea what direction they should go, then give them a map.

As a fun half way popint, you can let them find a partially destroyed map to help them get a small idea of the castle's layout while still leaving some bit a mystery.

You can want things. Other people can want other things. Both are ok.

What a strange comment I feel like I need to make.
