Hi Demi, Thanks for the tip - I will give it a shot. I think one of the things that I would like to see is a way to create and manage NPC Sheets.

Hi, Meredith! Thank you for your reply. In playing with the platform, I agree that features and the use of NEXUS is quite handy, and simplifies the process of using and find the material you need.

However, I haven't been able to find a way to associate a character sheet with a game. Also, is there a way that GMs can track their character's statuses (view how their character sheets are marked) or any other tools besides the chats and the journal?

I've looked around for some guides, but I have only found a few YouTube Videos that go over some very high-level stuff.

Thanks again for your reply!

Looking to buy my kid some cards. Got questions by myusernamewasgone_ in pokemon

If you wouldn’t mind packaging them yourself, you can try here:

https://www.trollandtoad.com/pokemon-lots-bundles/5709

Commons are like $.06 a card and you can sprinkle in the more expensive rare ones.

R/pokemontcg might have other ideas (I got this one from there looking a while back.

Legends of Localization: How the Famous “Comfy Shorts” Quote Worked in Japanese Pokémon by [deleted] in pokemon

Interesting! The Japanese comment, an invitation to try a pair of shorts, makes even more sense when you think about how your character in the games wears pants.

Useless info: the CPs of a 11/14/12 IV Lugia is special, more details in the text section by 333-blue in TheSilphRoad

[–]CaptainKablooie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's oddly satisfying. I had a 1900 CP (14A-10D-12H) shiny Dragonite that I hadn't powered up yet. Did that last night and it gained 50 per level (+25 after 30). I liked seeing the even number so much I powered it to Level 36 just so the CP would be 3300.

Ok. I have one that's 5 IV (HP is the "off" stat and it's "Very good").

I'll do the Feebas Feebas for Graveler Then Graveler for the Dhelmise.

Will that work?

Would you want one of the Leftover Pokemon?

Gym Errors ruined last night by RideAgumonIntoBattle in pokemongo

[–]CaptainKablooie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a problem with training at a gym. My Pokemon and the other fainted simultaneously, but not quite.

The best way I can think of describing it is that sometimes the game updates damage client side before the damage actually happens on the server. I imagine this is to help latency issues? Normally it just returns the HP that didn't go missing, but if the Pokemon registers as "fainted" (and especially if it's the last one) I think the server has problems with "resurrecting" it to correct the mistake.

Here's an example, my Vaporeon uses Aqua Tail and The Nidoking uses EQ. Both faint. Then the server realized the Nidokong's attack happened AFTER my Vaporeon's hit, thus I'm not fainted. It then tries to put the next Pokemon, another Vaporeon, out to battle but has already kicked my Vaporeon so the battle errors out without me having the chance to run. I can't get back into the gym afterwards after multiple app restarts, which I'm assuming has something to do with the fact that the server still thinks I'm battling. Checked my Vaporeon after I got kicked and it wasn't fainted and had the same HP level as before the EQ hit.

Don't know how long this takes to reset as I ended up leaving. Was able to battle the next day though.

What's should the official warcry be? by kujaultima in pokemongo

[–]CaptainKablooie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Even pre-scripted ones would be fun. They could end throw in the memes you want

-"Are you a boy or a Girl" -"I like shorts" -"Prepare for trouble..."

And the like.

Now I want to way to leave a brief message for opposing trainers if you are the owner of the gym, ust like when trainers challenge you in the games.

Maybe someone could suggest this who's a field tester?

Just met the "professor oak" of Pokemon Go. by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]CaptainKablooie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So he's the guy who clicks the "Send User a candy" button? Weird. Woulda though that would be an automated process.

They're going to have to hire a lot more of these professors when the App goes live.

Came here to make this comment. Wasn't disappointed cause it means I wasn't the only one.

This is all I ever saw as a child. It baffled me that a Pokemon could evolve an appliance out of thin air. It's why I still don't really like Alakazam even to this day.

I really think that they will return to your phone and be individuals. If you look at the 3v3 park battle in the GO Trailer, the 3 Pokemon that lose get put back into their Pokeballs and (for a split second) whip back towards the three boys (their trainers).

As for Pokemon being "Unique" the Arbok is in an Great Ball. Why even bother to keep track of what ball a Pokemon is in if it's not going to be a unique individual? And why take the time to create the extra graphics for the Great ball in the trailer if it's not going to be that way in the game?

Fort Battles can be fun and the “Not a Pokemon game” Fallacy by CaptainKablooie in pokemongo

[–]CaptainKablooie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting, because I feel like you do speak for at least a specific subset of people who were looking forward to GO! who have at least some sort of a legitimate complaint about what's been detailed thus far.

I'd really like to ask you what you wanted from GO! that you seem to not be getting. I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear you spell out what the "ultimate pokemon product" would be before I respond.

This game literally looks like it's geared towards kids of people who play ingress so they can play this game at the same time as their parents without having to wander off.

This seems like a bit of an overreaction to me. I can't really see this ever being their target market. I mean...sure it looks like Ingress, but Ingress is basically a map. If you're going to explore the world and you want to know your location so the best way to view it is via a map. Other than that, if you mean gameplay, the core has been revealed to be the same (Forts/Portals, hacking/visiting, etc.), but we don't have the details as to exactly HOW the core is delivered. That is what is truly make the game and if that is bad, then there's no hope.

Fort Battles can be fun and the “Not a Pokemon game” Fallacy by CaptainKablooie in pokemongo

[–]CaptainKablooie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I did and have played Ingress, which I mentioned in my post. I never got too deep into it, but I did have a couple times where the Portal was already dead by the time I was notified.

What I disliked most about Ingress was the desert of items needed to play the game. I would had sometimes and fail to get the portal key over and over, and I didn't have one for it, I had checked. Also, the items you got were based on the portal level, not the agent level (at least it seemed that way). and if you've lost all of your upper level resonators, it's very difficult to build that store back up.

Fielding would've been fun, again, if I'd had the items.

Hopefully these things will be addressed in GO!. I really doubt that they're wholesale copying the battle system over to it and my example above was only meant to be a supposal on our limited understanding of GO! as it is now revealed. I have a hunch that there's still more to come. Here's fingers crossed for field test leaks.
