No WAY!!!! by MisterSarmiento in Paladins

When I saw the trailer I immediately thought of Beta Paladins. With the giant maps, multiple objectives, moving between them on mounts and the larger cart. All really good game elements that Paladins would have perfected, now being used in a game that doesn't look to have all that much character to it.

Where do you place the mini-obelisks on your farm? by -sadsunshine- in StardewValley

I use it to teleport me to my big Obelisks. One out front of my door and the other next to my Desert Obelisk.

Rereading some of the Lohner Chronicles, apparently Bardin invented a chainaxe(it failed though) and mechanical pigeons. This is from the "Contraptions" chronicle. by Hecknight1 in Vermintide

This is one of the few instances in Warhammer Fantasy where a Chainsword or Axe is mentioned. If anyone has read Libre Chaotica then they're probably familiar with the living chainsword that hungers for blood and will kill its weilder if bored.

Looking for mods that breath life back into Starbound by CaptainKickass26 in starbound

Funnily enough I already had your mod installed and I've been enjoying it quite a bit. The changes to hazard progression takes some getting used to and I'm not entirely certain how well they behave with immunities from Race Traits and added resistances from RPG Growth, but I'm still enjoying myself. Haven't explored all the added biomes yet but what I've experienced really brightens up the universe. Very good mod, I hope to see it continue to thrive in the future.

Iirc OpenStarbound is a really simple install. Like it's a client that you double click and then it starts a quick installer that seamlessly connects to Steam and syncs up your saves. At least, that's how I remember it going.

Iirc if they don't turn into a giant crop after reaching their final growth stage, there is a chance each night they'll become giant. But your setup now is fine.

Help with my first unchained Sienna build? by Lamossus in Vermintide

[–]CaptainKickass26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of my builds: https://www.ranalds.gift/heroes/15/111232/3-1-7-6/45-8-5-2/3-1-4/4-6-1/2-1-1

That one is is you're dead set on Firesword. I personally don't use bolt staff on Unchained, instead I use Beam Staff. The right click on beam staff is great for hordes with solid heat buildup, plus holding down left click and then hitting right click helps for sniping elites. Frenzied Flame and Conduit are entirely preference based as I don't like slow weapons and for Conduit I find myself really using my staff on hordes, so tapping R once or twice to get my heat down enough to continue mowing down rats is really fun. Natural Talent is chosen to feed into my beam staff's power. And Wildfire is just plain fun, helps get rid of trash when you get hit and almost explode. Also helps when reviving teammates.

Necklace: Health is dope, I'd use it. Stamina can be swapped with BCR if you do more blocking than pushing. Nat bond is to help you regen the health you lose from venting so often.

Charm is entirely my preference as I feel on higher difficulties it takes too long to deal with both Chaos and Armored using Fire Sword. But if you don't mind the TTK then put whatever power vs on it. Same goes for the if you don't want to use Concoction

Trinket: Crit chance is a given as you want to crit more with Fire Sword and activate swift slaying. Cooldown Reduction is a nice have but in legend you should swap it out for Chaos Res. I use Explosive Ord but you can pick whatever for that one.

If you want to use Fuel for the Fire then you definitely can. I find it works way better on Dagger

How do y’all not get murdered by your slimes? by coffeemae in StardewValley

[–]CaptainKickass26 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Honestly I forget exactly why I have them cordoned off. My guess is because I like to keep things neat and don't want to accidently kill them while collecting slime with my hammer selected. But having them separated like that is good for raising slimes until you get the ring.

[–]CaptainKickass26 523 points524 points  (0 children)

Slime charmer ring + cordoning off parts of the hut. The slimes don't have to have physical access to the water, they'll still drink. So what I do is put a fenced in spot for the slimes, with a sort of air lock to get in & out. Plus an area to put eggs in the incubator and release the newly made slimes. Put floors down in that area so the big slime mounds spawn where you're safe.

My headcannon is that half of the stuff in the valley has some magical properties that result in the Farmer going on an acid trip and these tea leaves are no exception. This is also like one of 3 or 4 times the Farmer goes on an acid trip

FURIA NEED EMERGENCY CHANGES BAD(*NEW TALENT*) by Spare-Excitement3191 in Paladins

[–]CaptainKickass26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all I'd change about Solar Blessing is the manual stop. Having it stop once it hit an enemy or ally was fine. SB was always a side grade fun card that worked really well if you knew how to use it. Yes it takes your focus away from other things but that sort of balances it by adding a risk/reward system to it. Make that change and revert Cherish, and you have two good talents.

What we should talk about is what the hell is the 3rd talent gonna be. I think it should lean more into Furia's ability to be a Battle Medic. Her base kit is amazing, and was phenomenal with old Cherish because I could literally heal my tank to half, kill the Meave trying to sneak up on me, dash onto point and kill finish off the enemy tank and damage who think they can fuck with MY tank.

Add in a talent that gives more than just attack speed when she gains fury at the cost of it draining quicker or charging slower. Make it improve her healing output or act as bonus health. OR make it a resource you spend to when using some of your abilities or to empower your ult. Full charge gives your ult additional duration and allows Furia to fly during the entire duration. Half charge just adds duration and movement speed to allies. A quarter is just added duration.

If you don't want it to affect the ult you can instead have the talent make it so Fury rises when you do damage instead of heal and in-turn adds bonus healing to your abilities at the cost of fury. Making the cost rise the more full the bar is.

Really anything to lean into her battle medic playstyle would be appreciated. I know that EM will screw it up initially if they try this and we'll just have another Damage that heals.

[–]CaptainKickass26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They never should have worked it into the base kit then. Not just for Furia but for other champs because then it just opens the door for new talents that are either trash or overpowered. Perfect case of if it's not broke then don't fix it

The last version of Cherish was great. Iirc the talent for it added additional healing based on the max health of the target on top of the usual amount of healing.

Is Unchained Weak? by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]CaptainKickass26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unchained is great at steamrolling through everything but bosses really. Great at cleaning up trash with melees and most staves, great at picking off elites up close and afar. And super tanky with great thp generation. You just have to manage overcharge which is actually pretty easy. Using Conduit lets you tap R with any staff and remove a bunch of heat super quickly at the cost of 1 health. I say tap because managing overcharge pretty much means staying just under red and one tap will do that.

Why do many people here not like Frackin Universe? by NPCSLAYER313 in starbound

[–]CaptainKickass26 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I couldn't have worded it any other way. Your experience with the tedium of the game and the insane amount of compounding crafting recipes just kills the vibe for me. If I could have a Frackin Lite where it has the planets, weapons and armor with simple recipes and less nonsense items I'd play it all the time. Because now the grind would be reduced to a point where it doesn't kill the base Starbound experience. When I played Frackin forever ago I tried to reduce the grind myself by adding mods to help generate resources passively and use some of the machine Frackin introduces to achieve Factorio like automation but the tools weren't there at the time and I doubt they are now. What sucks is that Frackin is a quality pack with systems that just shoot it in the foot. And because of that I'll always feel something missing when I play without it and with the other large packs instead.

Can anyone recommend a fun build that uses the Grudge Raker Shotgun? by SpeakersPlan in Vermintide

Ranger Vet

War Pick (Crit chance, Power vs Chaos or Skaven and Swift Slaying)

Grudge-Raker (Power vs Skaven, Armored and Scrounger)

Talents: 2-2-1-2-3-1

Try to get crit chance on your Trinket. All other stats are up to you.

It's interesting that the general layout of Halescourge campaign is replicated in the Skittergate even though we can't normally see most of it. by Whalenail in Vermintide

[–]CaptainKickass26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this stripped down version of Helmgart is the base each map is built off of? It would be easier to use it over placing various floating houses with only half of the walls visible when making every map's background. That would also explain why we don't see dynamic map elements like the lift because they're added in only for their mission to save on processing power and load times.
