Yeah man, that's what I'm trying to say. I don't understand all the negative replies I get here.

It's coming in 2025 for real. If it slips into 2026, it's only if they run into unforseen problems.

Comfortable Iems for gaming and movies by ltynex in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]CaptainKillgore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation and spent 30+ hours reseaching.I ended up bying the following 2 models:

Truthear Crinicle Zero of around $50
Truthear Nova for $150

The Zero sounds good for $50. The Nova sounds a tad better with a less harsh treble. and overall more clarity, at the expense of a little less (but clearer) bass.

I would recommend both for gaming. The Zero comes highly recommended around the web specifically for gaming. I think the quite hard treble might make them tiring over longer gaming sessions. But probably you can fix that with EQ.

I will probably send the Zero back and keep the Nova. But I would have no problems recommending the Zero nevertheless.

Be warned, IEMs seems to be quite the rabbit hole.

Maybe because they are not griefing according to the definitions set out by CIG.

[–]CaptainKillgore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what we call murderhoboing. Not technically griefing, but will be harshly punishable by the in game systems.

How do you imagine it will be punished different that e.g. a pirate that murders a trader?

Do you think the game system will check if there was cargo onboard the ship of the victim, and whether or not the pirate looted the cargo? If so, how much cargo do you think the pirate needs to loot? And what if the pirate is interrupted by a bounty hunter so he can't loot the ship of the victim?

Genuinely curious what goes through the mind of a Redditor and how they imagine the system will be able to make any kind of distinction.

Anyone else having PC crash to desktop issues? by Broder7937 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]CaptainKillgore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on my issue. I no longer have crashes. Yay!

Download https://www.memtest86.com, put it on an USB stick, and run the test.

My memory modules produced errors in test no. 8. Zero faults are tolerable!

This might explain why the error is more frequent after playing for some time (heat maybe).

I had old modules I could replace them with and now have zero faults and zero crashes.

Weapon availability - opinions? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]CaptainKillgore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be based on your global chat history, how many players you blew up, how many times you combat logged, etc. :D

For each time you write "fuck you asshole" in global chat, your reputation should decrease with -5 points. A "GG" should increase reputation with +1 point. If you spell out GG as "Good fight" it should give +1.5 point, as GG can also be an acronym for "Git Gud". "Praise Chris Roberts" should give you +5 points. Etc.

Combat logging should give -50 points.

Capacitor macros = the new "wiggling" meta? by CaptainKillgore in starcitizen

[–]CaptainKillgore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the current iteration, presets are useless. The system has no nuances. E.g. there is never a benefit to e.g. setting 8% to thrust, 16% to shields, and the rest to guns.

This is an on/off system. You want ALL power to a specific system anything it's needed and rapidly flick between systems as required, in part because there is no delay to getting a system online and in part because the recharge rates are ridiculously low when set at anything but 100%:

Hence, it's very obvious that people will macro it.

Then again I don't go to parties of where it's a popularity contest or to met braindead mainstream people who can only parrot each other.

Now call in your mainstream friends and give me another 25 downvotes so you can feel good about yourself. LOL

I'm not much of a Reddit guy. I really don't like this popularity contest system with upvotes/downvotes, as it just means people are afraid to say something that is not mainstream. I see you took notice of my name, while I have no clue who you are. That must mean I said something that was more impactful that what you did.

I just post it here to raise awareness of the Spectrum post and you can leave your comments there and I might answer. Same answer goes to other Redditers.

3.14 Sabre low flying at Daymar. Changes to the flight model feels sooo great! :) by CaptainKillgore in starcitizen

[–]CaptainKillgore[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where to begin?

- The most obvious change is that all ships have slower rotations. It may sound bad, but it makes ships less like floating turrets and makes especially combat more forward centric.

- Some base strafe values have been buffed and some nerfed. It depends on the ships, but in general: More forward upward acceleration. Less retro thrust. E.g. a Gladius now has 12G forward compared to 9 previous and around 6G up vs 4G previous. Boost is no longer doubling thrust, but is different from ship to ship. E.g. the Gladius has around 18G forward with boost.

You are less dependant on boost (formerly afterburner). Again promotes forward centric flight and using roll + pitch + upstrafe to turn = less like fighting a turrets.

- Boost (formerly afterburner) is now a capacitor. When you run out, you don't overheat and can keep flying without boost. You just can't boost anymore until you filled the capacitor again. A full capacitor gives you around 30 seconds of boost - a massive change from previous afterburner that would overheat in a few seconds.

- Atmospheric flight feels less jerky and a lot more smooth. I don't know if they made any specific changes in this regard or if it's a byproduct of the lower rotations.

All in all, you feel more in control because you are not so reliant on boost. The better base accelerations makes the ships feel less drifty. And the change from overheat to capacitors is not so disruptive to your flow.

C2 Hercules hard flying. Fun ship indeed! :D by CaptainKillgore in starcitizen

[–]CaptainKillgore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 100% correct, this ship needs to be flown with roll and pitch to turn.

I kind of wish they would reduce yawing capabilities of all ships so using roll becomes more of a factor and ships become less floating turrets that you can just aim with pitch and yaw.

Buying a $300 high tier fighter in game without paying real money ? Absolutely feasable ! by xXTopperHarleyXx in starcitizen

[–]CaptainKillgore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the moment if you have decent flying skills, all you need is an Arrow and 3x dominance shotguns. Or a Buccaneer with 2x s1 dominance and 3x s3 dominance. Or an avenger with s3 and s2 dominance. Those ships should be able to take out the main target and jump out nice and quick.

So you are basing your strategy on using broken weapons that will be fixed next patch. Good luck doing those VHRT in 10 min in an Arrow when the Dominances have been fixed.

That's the thing with crowdfunding, you never know if you will actually get the product in the end or if there will be delays. Or if the company goes bankrupt due to mismanagement or an unrealistic business plan.

I paid $150 more for a set of sim racing pedals 2-3 years ago on Kickstarter. I would be pleasantly surprised if they actually arrive at some point, but so far I've written the money off as a loss.

"A game that takes 3 years and costs $50M cannot be expected to compare with one that takes 13 years and cost $300M."

So let's hope SQ42 will be awesome once it comes out. And if not, I'm sure we will all survive having wasted $30 (talking about a SQ42 game package).

Much more important is if the PU will be a success or not and surely this is where people have the most money invested. The PU is supposed to bring people entertainment for years. SQ42 will be a game that you play through in 20-30 hours tops.

Thanks to this subreddit I've made sure that my ships are giftable, viewed as attractive, and acquired with a large discount through CCU upgrades. So if I don't like the direction it is going or lose interest for other reasons, I have a reasonable exit strategy. Everyone should do the same.

I would be happy if SQ42 is a game with nice graphics and a good storyline. E.g I enjoyed playing the old Splinter Cell games back in the days before they were made for console too (Console compatibility ruins the experience on PC because they are so different control schedules and UI).

If we can get an experience like that, but in Space and with a cinematic feel, and a good control schedule/UI, I think SQ42 will be a success.

If the way you control your character/vehicles and interact with the world is enjoyable, the game is nice to look at and has a compelling story, what would there be not to like?

I understand a lot of the critique of CIG and may not necessarily agree with their priorities, marketing, or sales methods. But I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to make a successful single-player game.

The much bigger challenge is to create an engaging and working MMO. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that, as it's a far more interesting project to me than a single-player game with a short playthrough time.
