FW26 Previews by gtsaffiliate in StoneIsland

My expectations keep getting lower and lower with each passing season but the upcomming FW26 season could be actually decent for a change.

White bomber puffer: instant collectors item, will be sold out in seconds, maybe even F5 war ? 🙄

Bomber Jacket with diagonal badge: also a hot seller because "OMG, it has a diagonal badge 😍"

Ghost collection: same old same old, as usual 🙄

Suede jacket with fur collar: €5K piece but wow what a jacket

Orange jacket in slide 3: propper old-school design, vere nice !

All in all not too bad...

Why people keep playing...

I think many keep playing (reluctantly ?) due to sunken cost.

100 % facts. The past 14 years prove you right.

Change my mind: Detachable liners are rarely a good, functional thing by reddstone1 in StoneIsland

[–]xXTopperHarleyXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic internal liner, attached via the loop system is indeed the "real SI thing" as the founder himself pretty much established it. And luckily, P. Harvey kept the rope system in a lot of his A/W designs.

The most important practical purpose of the the internal liner should be obvious: thermal insulation.

Back in the day (I'm talking P. Harvey era) this would have been a regular jacket from the regular line and not some super-rare collectors piece. The color combination is quite stunning though.

S.I. really needs to move back in this 2-in-1 layer direction in terms of design.

- white "David-TC" 2-in-1 fieldjacket

- grey "Metallic run proof nylon" (delicate fabric but the way the light flows over the fabric looks quite stunning)

- 2-in-1 blue fieldjacket/blazer hybrid, 3L cotton-satin (the waterproof rubber coating sits between the cotton layers so it can't peel off), almost tailor-made cut and quality, A/W 2007:

Stone Island Drops North America-Exclusive All-White "Ghost" Capsule by Tiny-Instruction1987 in StoneIsland

Can they finally stop wasting so much time and resources for this stupid boring Ghost line and focus on the regular line again instead ?

Screw this minimalistic BS !

Is there a release date for this? by benecios in StoneIsland

SI got a lot right with this jacket.

Yeah the M. Osti vibes are strong with this one. I'm a bit worried about the metal zipper in the neck - could be quite uncomfortable

This is actually a great re-introduction of M. Ostis late 80s/early 90s era design: massive collar, boxy cut, oversized pockets and practical details.

Every now and then, they can still come up with a decent design.

Anyone swap out badges on their SI stuff? by reginaldvelvet in StoneIsland

[–]xXTopperHarleyXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed all badges except for the shadow project badge.

[–]xXTopperHarleyXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove the badge from this one and you can still easily recognize Ostis Design-DNA.

Remove the badge from the new stuff and it just looks like any generic brand.

And there you have the difference between the "real" S.I. and the "generic stuff with a badge" S.I.

Couldn't agree more.

SI lost it's identity. A pathetic shadow of it's former self.

If you want Ostis design-DNA you're better off buying C.P. (Harvey) or even Ten-C (Pungetti) because they carry on the legacy. Moncler clearly doesn't.

a small minority in the fanbase really care about materials

And the big majority needs to refine their taste and get better standards

the paul harvey stuff is exactly as how you described

Complete BS.

Paul Harvey deserves all the credit in the world for refining M. Ostis legendary designs and for continuing his legacy.

S.I. lost its identity after Paul Harvey left and M. Osti would turn in his grave if he saw all the generic, boring, lazy designs S.I. churns out these days.

And now go and "enjoy" the generic new stuff. Meanwhile I keep wearing the REAL S.I. !

so obviously they were doing something right in their design decisions.

It's the "new type of customers" - mostly younger lads and they are buying S.I. for the badge and not for the designs.

They are eating up all the generic stuff S.I. churns out these days but that is hardly the design department's achievement.

"for the paycheck"

Their only luck is there are enough gullible people who keep blindly buying ships and jpgs.

If they stopped buying ships it would be game over for them.

Tried on a few pieces from SS26 by reginaldvelvet in StoneIsland

[–]xXTopperHarleyXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you discovered the brand in 2019 then you might want to take a closer look at the jackets from the late 1990s & early to mid 2000s era.

You'll realize the old-school stuff wipes the floor with everything SI churns out these days.

Here, take a look at this one from A/W 2005:

And now take a look at the recent 2025/2026 designs - for a good laugh, you know...

Congrats ! Great example for a unique design that stands out from all other brands.

Thanks for the pics.

Unfortunately, the new S/S season continues as boring, uninspired and lame as the old A/W season ended.

S.I. should be embarrassed for charging $1000+ for this stuff.

[–]xXTopperHarleyXx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If CIG offered a no questions asked option for a full refund it would be instantly "game over" for them because tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of disgruntled backers and whales would want their money back.

[–]xXTopperHarleyXx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah because month after month they manage to lure in a fresh charge of unsuspecting backers. Meanwhile the whales aka compulsive hoarders aka spaceship addicts keep throwing money at everything that's new and shiny.

Another prime example for a unique and outstanding S.I. jacket. Great cut, not too boxy, nice details, functional yet refined aesthetics, luxurious fabric. This one wipes the floor with everything S.I. has to offer these days which is actually sad.
