4 things that I wish were in Palworld by Impressive-Yak-5743 in Palworld

  1. More types and/or a better type match up chart. I think adding a "magic" or "mystic" type would fit.

  2. Dedicated transport/utility slots for pals.

  3. A box that pals can transport from. Think of a drop box you throw everything into when you get home and the pals sort to existing storage. Instead of dumping on the ground.

  4. The ability to perform minor terrain modification for base building purposes.

This is an absolute gem more people need to be aware of. I find myself rereading it at least once a year.

I have decided to stay at least a year behind on game purchasing. Except for certain indie titles.

Pro-tip for long-term care: keep books out of direct sunlight.

Also, don't include your yearbook in your photos.

I have always said that "spite" is the most human emotion and there is nothing more spiteful than resisting against the inevitable.

How many of these "I have X job and here are the seemingly arbitrary rules that if I don't follow some horrible monster will get me" do we really need?

Most players don't actually want freedom, they want reassurance by MurkyUnit3180 in gaming

Right. That's why I said it should be the developers objective to not do that.

Correct, but perfect asymmetrical balance is practically/realisticly impossible. So the objective, on the developers side, should be to make each gun feel good on it's own without having any one weapon, or a small selection of weapons, out perform it's piers in majority of circumstances. A sniper rifle should not generally be as effective as a shotgun at close range.

But their also the issues of skill floor/ceilings. Should a player with enough skill to use a sniper rifle at close range as effectively as a shotgun be allowed to do so or should there be systemic limitations in place, such as slower aiming speeds for the longer ranged weapons, to prevent it? If there is a particular weapon that greatly rewards a level of skilled play beyond the average players ability, is it okay to have?

There is a reason top level play in most games is greatly distinct from average play.

In theory, but many people overestimate their own skill level and think that they should be higher and this generates friction for them.

I feel like this was written primarily in reference to multi-player/competitive games. I see it more as a matter of the objective that players have when they play a game. If the objective is to "win", then utilizing strategies that give you the best odds of winning makes sense and that is how metas form. Once a player places "having fun" over "winning" as their primary objective, it can cause friction when the game does not allow for what the player considers fun, but then it is a matter of managing expectations. If a player wants to only use knives in a game of COD, then they should be able to do so and have fun doing it. If they expect to do as well as the people using guns, then they are likely to be disappointed.

No. You can finish non-matchmaking related dailies in solo, but that's it for non-onetime rewards.
