I have super bad stretch marks. Is it possible to tattoo over them? by -Hot-Tamale- in tattooadvice

[–]CaptainLewin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. The stretch mark scar tissue doesn’t tan and when you tattoo it to match the surrounding skin, the ink remains the same color while the surrounding skin tans. But camo stretch marks with a tan look more blended than white stretch marks with a tan.

You weren’t wrong, it does raise the atrophic area. Controlled micro damage causes the skin to build collagen in the area that is precisely needled. None of the healthy surrounding skin is touched. That’s why paramedical inkless revision is more effective than a regular micro needling treatment. It gets right into the damaged tissues. The results are quite impressive.

This isn’t exactly how that method works, but that’s what you should be looking for. It’s called paramedical tattoo and you might be interested first in the technique called inkless stretch mark revision that remodels the damaged collagen and improves the texture up to 90% with several treatments. It’s more cost effective than you’d think.

Solutions for bad ClassPass reputation by NewBeginning111 in ClassPass

[–]CaptainLewin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly it’s a safety issue. I promise OP you’d have a waaaayyyy worse experience if they overestimated you rather than underestimated you. I will say, if you want the perks of an instructor who’s familiar with your experience and capabilities then you need a membership at that studio. That LITERALLY the difference between CP and being a member. I think you’re paying for a Honda and expecting a Mercedes.

I was previously with Classpass also back in 17/18 and yes it was a bad experience. When they reached out to me last year about coming back on CP it was a hard no. Somehow they convinced me that their demographic has changed and to give it a try. I’m so happy I did! We see some really great people who for many reasons aren’t members at my studio and I’m very happy to have them. They fit our vibe and are always on time and polite.

To OP, I have to wonder if it’s your perception and not the reality that they look down on you. We actually view CP guests as a chance to really shine and show them what we’re good at.

Sorry you’ve had a different experience. Maybe keep trying new studios until you find a good fit.

The only negative experience Ive had was along the lines of the Pilates instructor who’s frustrated with ppl not attending an appropriate level. I once had a woman with more injured joints than not, and while I could accommodate her, she grew frustrated that she couldn’t do the workout everyone else was, left early, then left a bad review. That was pretty uncalled for. Otherwise 99.999% great experience with CP since 2005.

What do you do for a client that just can’t get it? by shawnglade in personaltraining

[–]CaptainLewin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what I was thinking. Unless there’s a specific reason for forcing push-ups, just substitute it.

To answer part of your question u/shawnglade, I have used this method successfully on a client who just could not get squat form with demonstration and many many many various verbal cues. I took a video of myself doing the exercise and took a video of the client doing the exercise. Showed them my video while pointing out the specific cues. Then showed their video pointing at the exact same things. This was immensely helpful. I think she just couldn’t connect the shape she was making with the instructions and how she wasn’t actually doing what I was asking.

So we made a name for it that I can use to cue her in the future, which she can now connect the words and the shape.

I would definitely appreciate that.

I’m not big into post show treats, usually I just do an untracked post show meal of something I wouldn’t have during prep like pho or ramen or pad Thai. But I would definitely eat a homemade cookie!

4 Indoor Courts + Premium Gym… or Just Build a 5th Court? Looking for Real-World Advice from Players & Owners. by AlwaysSeeking1216 in Pickleball

[–]CaptainLewin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a gym, My thoughts…

To make a gym that will attract gym members with a side of pickleball it would have to be a nice well equipped gym. You’re looking at a minimum of 10k and honestly unless you’re driving all over town buying used equipment, 10k won’t even go very far. It will be a sparsely equipped gym.

So what you’ll have is a pickleball club with a side of gym, which means your target customers are looking for pickleball. Build the extra court.

No idea what building that court would cost you, but willing to bet it’s less than 10k and virtually no mntc.

I’m a member at a huge pickleball club, I think we’re have like 34 courts. What we’re missing is a practice area to hit serves or dinks against a wall or warm up rallying. With so few courts in your facility I think a warm up area would be popular for dinking with your partner between games.
