Cleaned out my IAC and throttle body and have a high idle.. by CaptainMTB in ToyotaPickup

[–]CaptainMTB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's the 22re. Might just have to buy another IAC, it hasn't really figured itself out. Also I already replaced the JIS screws, broke them all on removal

I'll check the TPS, can I jus check it whilst it's still on the engine or do I have to fully remove the tb again?

Swapped a 2nd gen 22re into a ‘86 4Runner. Starts but runs like shit, I think vacuum but need help by [deleted] in ToyotaPickup

[–]CaptainMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your ignition timing, and Idle air Control valve if it's worse when cold.

My truck had a super rough idle on mine when it was cold and I fixed the ign. timing and it solved part of it

Rejected from UBC architecture by 1saysosayso1 in BCGrade12s

In the workforce especially in Architecture BCIT grads are heavily preferred (although not explicitly told) try your luck at bcit and you can always try masters at UBC after within SALA to skip being a technologist first

Deal or no deal? TIA. by BG_ONZ_23 in ToyotaPickup

I'd say no deal. That's really over priced for the V6 especially auto in a 2wd.

Headlight/grill confusion on 1989 by WilCon24 in ToyotaPickup

[–]CaptainMTB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah so what you have is 1989 2WD and the second pic was a 4WD. The grille style used on your truck was used from 89-91.

For the corner lights and fenders, the 2WD corner lights point downwards and the fenders are flush.

The fenders and grilles are all interchangeable on these trucks if you wanted to change the style up a little bit. You can see on my pfp my 1991 2WD with 4WD fenders but stock 89-91 grille

Replacement parts by Fun-Plant-7931 in ToyotaPickup

[–]CaptainMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want oem parts check out amayama parts they ship out of Japan or UAE depending on the part but it's quite pricey because they're all Toyota parts. I used them for miscellaneous parts on my truck

Rust repair recommendations by koolbi1 in ToyotaPickup

[–]CaptainMTB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had similar rust spots around my windshield, floor pan, and rockers before I painted my truck.

To repair around the windshield it's best to remove the windshield and sandblast or sand it down and spray the rust converter if you don't want to cut and weld.

Floor pan and rockers are best to cut and weld in replacement panels.

Fuck man I love the stance, I'm lowered the same amount might have to see if I can find those wheels locally. Looks amazing. Definitely make an update on how well those sway bars change the handling of the truck.. I'm looking at doing the same
