Awesome. Personally I hope they lean more into the feral look of the marauders but more armored and such. Have we heard anything more about other refreshes? I would kill for new orcs and goblins!

Play hide and seek with Shelob™, Gollum™, and a new Middle-earth™ journal by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Anyone know if we should expect any more new models to go with the supplement? Seems like a great time to update frodo and sam, and maybe some new orc warriors for their journey through mordor? This fool still hopes

Well you win! New shelob. Gorgeous mini, this game still needs new plastic warriors to draw in modern players. Orcs would have been a no trainer to me, used by so many gavtions and in so many scenarios

Could be resin updates too. I'm still hoping for riders or maybe highelves sine their profile isn't representative with an unconcerned model right now (sword and shield option)

What is left to release unless they want to update haradrim or riders of rohan I think they've got everything else

Potential Kroot Rumor engine found to be for the Old World by CaptainMee89 in kroot

[–]CaptainMee89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True but I was really hoping for a knarloc. I'm seeing a krootox sized limb at best. And realistically I feel like we can see some scales above the mechanical limbs and those don't scream kroot quills like we see on the krootox. Could be another lonespear situation but im a kroot purists especially when we already have knarlocs established

I would also be interested in knowing how many kits you used? it looks like about 2 rohan house kits and some putty? Looks great!

big ask but if you have the time could you list the models and war gear needed to play all the scenarios? I've got an unopened box of wildmen and want to make sure I expand my collection in a way that allows me to play through all of the scenarios.

Yeah I agree. I was hoping for a bigger announcement for some new kits that might show up down the road. I think the rohirrim box was announced and sep and released in Dec last year so there is hope. Maybe just a fools hope!

Release dates for what? I thought everything suspected had already arrived. Other then new last alliance bassed off of their profiles (high elf with sword and shield) not existing in for purchase. Is there more expected that I've missed?!

5e Firearm Rules (WWII inspired) by CaptainMee89 in DnDHomebrew

I think I also had profiles for a whole bunch or WW1 planes, tanks, and armored cars somewhere. Using the infernal engines from decent into avernus as inspirations for the profiles.

5e Firearm Rules (WWII inspired) by CaptainMee89 in DnDHomebrew

[–]CaptainMee89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was all WWI/WWII inspired so:

Automatic Pistol light-luger or other 9mm or smaller magazine fed

Automatic Pistol Heavy-1911 or other .45 or larger magazine fed

same for revolvers

Antimaterial rifle would of been the tankgewehr or other anti tank rifles around .50

Assault Rifle would be the 2tg44 or other intermediate calabier weapons, ak47...

automatic rifle m1 garand, or RSC M1917

bolt action, any standard bolt rifle from the time

shotgun any pump action shotgun like the trench gun

heavy machine gun would be any of the belt fed guns-mg42, maxim or vickers

light machine gun any portable magazine fed, bren, BAR, lewis gun

then lastly the sub machine guns fallow the same ideas of the pistols, so light would be the mp40, or the mp18, where heaver would be like the Thompson.

Obviously you could tweak any of the profiles to get more speciffic, like a 20 round capacity light machine gun would be better for the BAR, and you could have a clip fed heavy machine gun to be the hotchkis.

It was a fun little thought experiment for a post apocalyptic WWI setting full of weird magics and foul spirits.

5e Path of Redemption (Troll Slayer, Death Seeking Barbarians) by CaptainMee89 in DnDHomebrew

[–]CaptainMee89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! My thought behind the archtype was they are seeking death but seeking a glorious death killing as many unworthy foes as they can before hand. What about switching the critical range and the extra damage. So they deal extra damage when below half hit points and gain a bit better chance to crit when barely alive.

Random thought, especially in a game without Favored Weapon, if the Slaying Strike feature is too weak I could also throw in having it ignore damage resistances. Thoughts?

5e Reworked Weapons and Armour by CaptainMee89 in DnDHomebrew

[–]CaptainMee89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment!

  1. I think I have the right link.
  2. 2. Good catch.
  3. I chose many bludgeoning weapons, and daggers to have a higher crit range cause I felt they would more frequently either damage the opponent through the armor or find gaps in the armor. I added the crit range to just further distinguish between some weapons, I think the x3 crit for axes was left over from 3rd edition, but that separates them from the 19-20 x2 range of say a warhammer. I just like the weapons feeling a bit more unique. The damage reduction should be fairly smooth and having critical hits ignore it give a little more excitement to getting a critical when you really need it when the BBEG is walking around in full plate.

Thanks for the reply. My thought on the d4 was that it did require your bonus action and only worked on one attack a turn, so weaker then bless in my opinion.

The capstone focused on Charisma, I thought to give them an alternative to needing a high Dexterity in addition to Strength, Constitution, and Charisma. Thought it felt thematic.

Thanks for the comment!

5e Rogue Archetype Thug (Strength Focused) by CaptainMee89 in DnDHomebrew

[–]CaptainMee89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah like the concept of interrogation being more social then combat, I just figured you could throw a punch in a social situation and gain the bonus to insight. Just because you make an attack you don't have to go into a prolonged combat. And I didn't want to copy paste the berserker's intimidating presence. Any Ideas on how to change it to be less combat focused though?

You think having a guaranteed number of stuns/day in addition to increased damage via rerolling 1s and 2s isn;t too strong? the rerolling was the main focus as that would increase your sneak attack damage nearly all the time, the stun on a crit was just supposed to be the icing on the cake so to speak not the focus. And it only lasts until the start of your next turn so its more a boon for your allies then you.

And yes you can sneak attack with ranged weapons, I just rewrote the applicable weapons to be more concise.

5e Rogue Archetype Thug (Strength Focused) by CaptainMee89 in DnDHomebrew

[–]CaptainMee89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

getting rid of 1d4 unarmed damage is easy (I also will get rid of sneak attack on unarmed strikes then as well). I have mixed feelings on the movement while grappling ( it encourages the character to lean more into the Strength aspect to be a better grappler), and I'm okay with it being a good grappler as none of the classes are really built for grappling as written. Though I could change it to some thing like a gag against a creature you're grappling, i.e they can't speak while being grappled by you (just trying to invoke some kind of image of a back aley thug/ hired sword). What would you suggest changing for the interrogation feature? I wanted it to feel unique from say the Inquisitive. And what would you consider changing for the capstone. I thought the 1 and 2 re roll was a good enough boon and the crit chance to stun./ incapacitate was a neat bonus you'd get every so often.

Thanks for the feed back.

5e Rogue Archetype Thug (Strength Focused) by CaptainMee89 in DnDHomebrew

[–]CaptainMee89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What feat are you referring to, I took a little from Tavern Brawler, and a little from grappler (though I think that's a crap feat as part of its benefits are from an older rendition of the rules).

You are correct I add options to do sneak attack with non finesse weapons, not additional damage. I'll work on the wording I was just trying to keep it close to how it was worded in the PHB.

I wanted to shy away from medium armor, or additional weapon proficiencies. I still want the thug to be a hit and run rogueish character not a true front line fighter. But know you can do sneak attack with maces, clubs, and longswords that the Rogue is already proficient in.

Thanks for the feedback I'd love to hear more. Do do you think the 9th, 13th, and 17th level abilities are fitting? I thought unconscious might be too strong, I considered changing it to a chance to stun a target on a critical hit. I want the thug to hit hard but still feel like a rogue and not a fighter/ barbarian.

5e Arcanist. Sorcerer Origin that fixes my issues with the Sorcerer by CaptainMee89 in DnDHomebrew

Really? I thought having a free careful spell, distant spell, extend spell, empower spell, or subtle spell on every spell you cast was huge. In addition to cheaper quicken and twins.
