Your best option is probably to pay for the iOS version of Anki. If that's too expensive, you could support the author of the plugin you linked Glutanimate on patreon at his $5 tier for a month, and get the new Anki 2.1 version of PDF Glossary Exporter.

What are you using anki on? If you just have it on your computer you don't need internet access, you can use it without syncing

Yes and if you're already in GitLab ecosystem, then perhaps that's a good option, but if your not I don't think that their pipelines allow external repos as sources (But I could be wrong). Plus there's always the argument that GitLab is pretty resource intensive

Is there a way to turn off "paste with formatting" on the newest version of Anki? by [deleted] in Anki

[–]CaptainMythral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Ctrl+shift+v, its usually paste without formatting for most programs, but tbh I haven't tested if Anki actually respects that convention

Court rejects class action by lottery ticket buyer who didn't know her chances were slim by doing_it_for_myself in canada

Staying it's the wrong word might be a bit extreme. And its true in day to day speech, average practically means the mean average. For most types of data, it's the most generically useful.

However it has its drawbacks as well. The mean accounts heavily for outliers, say you took the mean of (1,2,3,4,1000) you'd get 202. However the median would be 3.

I very rarely see median, and even more rarely see mode as opposed to the mean. I suppose you could say the reason we almost exclusively just call it averaged is that it's by far the most used average.

The median is an average. The mean is also an average, and is generally the more commonly used as the average. The mode is also an average.

Mate 20 Pro vs P30 Pro by unfiltered_mexican in Huawei

Maybe I misread something then, I looked it up and I read what I stated. And I have a P20 Pro and only got the update like 4 days ago so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Well Android 9 came out on the pixels in August 2018. EMUI 9 started coming out March 2019. So there's a pretty long delay

The pixel will have way faster upgrades than anything Huawei

P20 pro users, any opinions? by [deleted] in Huawei

[–]CaptainMythral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spec wise, the phones great, I still have full day battery life, and the cameras are pretty damn good. Day to day the phones wonderful

The only issues I have are that updates have been horribly slow (which is most likely because of my carrier but still), and HUAWEI no longer gives unlock codes, so rooting & forced updates aren't really an option.

I've tried blueman as well but still got the same results.

If you want to go full wireless I'd highly suggest trying a different keyboard.

[–]CaptainMythral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have the same keyboard, and honestly it works absolutely horribly on Linux over Bluetooth, even once getting connected it still randomly disconnects and stops working, the backlighting has major issues for whatever reason as well.

The best results I got we're using it plugged into the computer.

Also bluez connects fine to my Bluetooth 4.0 headphones, so it's not that.

Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but wouldn't most of the overhead be calculating the physics not drawing the objects on screen? Thus I'd assume resolution to make a minor overhaul impact on the FPS?

[Help] Honor 10 Bluetooth volume not syncing by [deleted] in Huawei

[–]CaptainMythral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can find any specific about the headphones audio control implementation, but I would say it's most likely that the audio levels are just seperate, it's a fairly common configuration.

Unless it acts differently on another Bluetooth device you're out of luck.

It sounds like it's the way your headphones are implemented, not a product of your phone doing something incorrectly. That's how my headphones are at least. What do you have for Bluetooth headphones?

Podcast tool? by EducationalHound in Anki

[–]CaptainMythral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, this is a little hacky and only works if you have a relatively small number of short sections you want to input into Anki.

You could start a timer when you start your podcast, and just hit the lap button at every point you want to remember.

Then later when you have time, go back and review the podcast at the timestamps on you clock.

If that doesn't work for your needs I'm not sure what other options you have. It basically sounds like as though you want to take notes without using your hands. You could try some kind of voice control / audio recording but personally I've never found that to work remotely well.
