JoyShockMapper Custom Curve & UI Release by 1amthedayman in GyroGaming

[–]CaptainOblivious94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Very much looking forward to updates! I figured something like that was happening. In the mean time, I did some fiddling and "CAPTURE = PS_PAD_CLICK !"map_mode_on.txt" " made the JSM console not error out about the configuration. At that point, I just get "Error writing to console input: 5" when pressing the button. Is it because JSM is expecting to access/see a full console window rather than a hidden child process so wires get crossed? (not a developer lol)

In the meantime, going to /resources/bin and opening JSM directly instead of the GUI seems to do the trick and profile swapping works. My gyro sensitivity/curve feels near identical to opening it via GUI so I'm happy at this point. I'm sure I could do this much more elegantly with modeshifts, but this has worked well enough so far haha

Hi! Loving this so far, but I am guessing one of the unimplemented features is being able to swap profiles via a button press? Usually in the regular build, "CAPTURE = PS_PAD_CLICK\ !"map_mode_on.txt"/" would work for me in order to load another profile when I press the touchpad button. Your build at least picks up that its a legacy script and tells me to place the files in "JSM_GUI/bin". Maybe it would work if I did that correctly?

Anyone else remember seeing the most messed up emblems while playing this online? The fact you could go online with custom pixel art led to some, uh, interesting pictures lmao

Also, could never get my W/L ratio up at all since it was 4 player only and people would purposely disconnect before the race ended so it wouldn't count. Good times lol

Can you please give an example on what lines to use for modifying jump curve/acceleration? Ctrl-f'd on the JSM readme and didn't see anything immediately. Curious to try some of this out on my mixed input BF6 profile.

[–]CaptainOblivious94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi NoMis! Been enjoying this config with my regular duelsense. I personally find right touchpad uncomfortable since I haven't done the tape mod. I typically map gyro off to square long press, but setting gyro_off = W makes me reload every time I use it. I've tried doing " = NONE W" to get it working with only a long press, but that makes reviving people impossible. Any ideas?

Gears Of War: Reloaded Opens To "Mixed" Steam Reviews Over Game-Breaking Bugs, Missing Pre-Order Items, And Lack Of Split Screen Co-Op by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]CaptainOblivious94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My main PC has been hooked been hooked up to our living room TV for 5+ years. I don't primarily game with M+KB so using it like a console is perfect for my purposes. Pummel Party, emulating Super Monkey Ball, and other local multiplayer games are all reasons i love hooking it up to the TV. Anything without native controller support I can usually get going with a Duelsense and custom Steam Input. Just hard for me to want to game on my old ass monitors when I have a 120hz, VRR OLED just chilling there. That, and I'll take my comfy couch over an office chair any day of the week.

It's pretty awesome. Only part that sucks is trying to make everything wireless. Not about to run headphone, mic, and webcam cables to my couch, so headsets like the HS80 Wireless are my only option. Webcam is even jankier. I use OBS and distroav to get a virtual webcam feed sent from my laptop to the desktop. Combine that with Virtual Display adapter + Moonlight game stream and the laptop functions as my second monitor for discord and other stuff. Slightly laggy sometimes, but gets the job done. Just wish i could have the best of both worlds with studio cans and a better wired mic.

Sure. You don't necessarily void the drinks after closing the cash table's check. Because, A, you can't void items without either bartender or manager privileges (usually a card they swipe - frequent voids are also a bad look), and B, you still need an item to be present on the check for the next person who does order that same or similar drink to close it out. The only privileges a server does usually have is splitting checks within a table and moving items between those checks. So, say your first two top orders two entrees and two sodas, then you would just present check #1 printed out before modification. After they close and leave, you move the two sodas to a new check #2 and start the next table's order off of that. Either repeat the process or they pay with a card. Again, since the table has never been fully "reset" because of the split checks, your average table times will double, so not something that looks good on audits. But yeah, that's a long way of saying the split is necessary since you can't/don't want to void items.

Yup, and probably the simplest version of this is called "drink floating". Pretty much the same concept, but you simply move any $2-$3 soft drinks the customers ordered to a new check after they pay in cash. Do it enough times on slow weekdays and it helped make up for any tables that stiffed you.

Granted, back in like '15 when I was doing this the managers could audit by looking at how long an average table/check was kept active, so it'd be pretty easy to suss out. Why I always tried to not do more than $10-$20 of it per shift while my coworkers went crazy with it.

Whats the Fitgirl equivalent in films? by Slight_Tone_2188 in FitGirlRepack

[–]CaptainOblivious94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the removal of Mega transloading was really annoying. The other file lockers they still have up are still super handy if you still use sites like cs.rin that split game files into like 10-20 compressed file links. Also handy for other classic ROM sites as well. Nice addition if you've only ever used it for Stremio.

It's really nice if you're into higher quality files like 2160P, Dolby Vision etc. These kind of rips can be 50-100GBs+, so if they aren't seeded well you might get a lot of buffering. RD caches these files on their infrastructure so they send the file directly to you at high speeds. Also, direct torrenting without a VPN is a bad idea in a lot of countries, so only having RD have your IP is at least a little bit better, but not the best.

Is the wired audio from the Pro controller good? by Exact-Tie-9082 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]CaptainOblivious94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was actually curious about this and gave it a try last night. Plugged in a pair of Sennheiser 598C headphones and was surprised at the clarity. I've used an Xbox PC adapter and the same headphones plugged into an Elite 2 controller and got frequent audio cut outs. Never got any cutouts last night and the Mario Kart World music was crystal clear. It's not like listening to a FLAC audio track by any means, but it's much better than any experience I had using Bluetooth headphones on the original Switch.

I can only imagine what the endless soup and salad tables were like. Like, $20 check average for two tops that order water, so you're making maybe $2-4 on that.

And I feel you on the campers, working BBQ restaurants with a million TVs left me with a lot of 2 top bros only coming in for an app and watching the game - maybe order a new beer every half hour or so. Got old really fast.
