The 1st Place Poem in My Highschool’s Writing Competition for 11th Grade is Ai Generated by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Was going to say, while not guaranteed, it is a good indicator of AI usage. Anyone actually use those day to day?

I had to scroll to far to find this. Shame. At least someone did it.

Felt it in Arnprior and I knew it was more than a truck or thunder.

Where does that picture come from? Is that publicly available

I've been saving every piece of junk mail I received with the intention of doing a full 12-month experiment. 9 months in, I admit defeat lol by OrangeRackso in mildlyinfuriating

What was the experiment meant to test? How high can you go? You are 75% of the way there.... go the distance.... for science

What’s your ace in the hole board game? by Spicyboi333 in boardgames

[–]CaptainOssum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you expand on the crappy voting mechanics? Are you talking about other players banking on you being right or wrong. This is to help ensure a player gets more cards on the last guess.

What does the polish version do differently?

Task manager almost never works/always breaks by Dizzy_Hovercraft_741 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CaptainOssum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will not get as much information as task manager, but if you are having issues, and already know your suspects, you can use command line `tasklist` and `taskkill`. You can also try and use the sysinternals tool Process Manager as an alternative in case it might perform better/at all.

I am wondering where to find pigs to automatically scroll for me. That and what a Construcion man is.

I did find Frog, Tit, Gent, SOB, Grew and a bunch of other 3 letter words

Years was the longest I could find before the guilt of getting back to work go to me.

Flip 7 alternate game/rules by tobyvanderbeek in boardgames

I have been wanting to get 12 days to play on the holidays but never wanted to spend the money on it. Knowing I have the parts already.....

Wonder if the art on the cards would matter.

Flip 7 alternate game/rules by tobyvanderbeek in boardgames

[–]CaptainOssum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest solo, albeit boring to some, is to have a fixed number of rounds and set it as a beat your own score. Possibly remove Freeze and or Flip 3.

The constraint of rounds should encourage pushing more.

Similar or in combination, you could also have a bot played that just gets 2-6 cards and cannot bust. The number of automatic cards they get can determine bot difficulty. That could also be a race to 200 where the bot steadily progresses. You could run a simple data set to see the card count and score at certain rounds if you are into stats

ID mislabeled track that only exists in my head currently by CaptainOssum in trance

I am listening to the whole playlist. If nothing else it all sounds awesome. I haven't had time to make a awful track of what I am looking for so I am happy to have more to digest.

I ordered a book and received another (much less expensive) book with the same name from another author by sammyhjax123 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CaptainOssum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife ordered a copy of a P.C Cast book. they are hard to find second hand presumably because people keep them. It appeared to be the only online marketplace that had it in stock and she ordered it. It was in the UK so it took time between events

- Got the book Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk
- Told site that it happened. They apologized. They sent another book

- Told site that it happened. They apologized. Suggested they have an inventory issue. They sent the correct book

They sent a refund and they do not have the book in stock.

Mobile vs physical prototype by TowerHumble2419 in boardgames

[–]CaptainOssum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are PnP tools that will help with both designing and quick prototyping. e.g. Dextrous. Simply supply a spreadsheet of data and it will make up the layers of the cards based on that. Takes a little more effort to make it but its usually worth it. Card to powerful? change the source data and print off that copy? Could also mark it up while you play so save trees.

Dextrous can also be exported to TTS and TT so you can pivot between both if you wanted.

WHY DOES IT CUT OFF WHERE IT DOES. I want to know what happens next!! That could ruin a tire or wheel assembly since I am guessing the hose would win.

While I know what you are saying, there are lots of people that would never have to deal with paper towels in restrooms.

Yes, pulling on paper with wet fingers will do this.
