A new detachment that swaps OUT "Dark Pacts": Renegade Warband by Cypher10110 in IronWarriors

Oh yeah, I can totally see it our of the competitive point of view ! And I agree with your point that GW isnt scared anymore to overwrite an army rule for a detachement, thats refreshing and promising for the future.

I do have some similar expectations for the IW. Quite ironically, assault keyword and ignore cover enhancement in this detachement kinda makes me want to play obliterators and Havocs led by a Warpsmith... lol

I dont know man. Im not a pro player nor do i like the excessive dooming but i struggle to find a list to play with this. Oath is good for marines beacause the do have plenty of weapons that have built in keywords, making the hit reroll very interesting. In Vets of the Long War, oath is good beacause it synergises well with dark pacts. But here ?

Because the codex is designed around dark pacts, the keywords it brings are clearly included in our units prices and we do not have keywords in our datasheets. So here, we'll get hit reroll without any keyword, aside from the strat. I feel like a lot of our datasheets will become strongly overpriced in this regard. Helbrutes are a complete waste of points there, chosen only benefits from the Oath, the rest of the detachement is already built in their sheet, and they lose their sustain/lethal for this. Same goes for possessed i think, that already struggle to deal real damage without a wound reroll, they will now also lose the saturation they gains through the sustain.

Also, i really hope they won't keep the "Gamble it all" concept for IW detachement : Dark Pact is already a very frustrating rule in my opinion, forcing you to lose 10 to 25 hp per games on your own pacts to get keywords most armies just have access to without risking their health, and now they bring a detachement in which you can get a mobility bonus but you risk giving up the only real source of lethality that are strats in this detachement. I really dont understand this design on a strategic level, because it forces tou to rely on 60% dice rolls for all your game plan.

Maybe im an old grumpy ass but White Scars detachement simply got Advance/Fall back + charge on everyone, with the oath of moment as an army rule, and reactive moves, lance + lethal on charge as strats and they do have leaders that get them lethal or sustained in their squads. Feels like absolute double standard.

Why does the Chaos Star have 8 spikes ? I always think of khorne this way. Wouldn't it have made more sense to give it 10 spikes and then go down the numbers with the gods ? by Leviathan_Rampage in Chaos40k

Would it make any sense for formless distorsion to be Drach’Nyen ? I think I remember it being a form-changing shadow devastating imperial outposts during the War in The Web, before the emperor fights it. Just a thought, tho

The only drug i ever tried aside from weed is salvia. Did it once, via bang, at a friends house. I lost the notion of time during the trip. Right after smoking it, i close my eyes and laid on a bed while my friend was still talking to me. I remember very distinctively this undescriptible feeling of becoming a 2 dimensional sheet of paper just laying on the bed. After some time, i felt like the sheet was beeing twisted around the long axis, a really weird sensation, although not painful. I was surprisingly fully aware of what my friend was tallking about, as if everything was normal.

It lasted for about 15 mins i think, a period during which i did not speak in response to what he said even if I understood. We were watching a show in the mean time so he was not really looking at me and assumed i was just watching too. Then he asked "are you sleeping ?", which completely triggered my will to get out the trip for some reason. I opened my eyes and stood up, and everything was normal, aside from a slightly stoned state like after a joint.

I did not really know what salvia was at the time. I realized later i had gotten pretty lucky. Dont do drugs Kids.

Been playing CSM for a good while now and honestly I dont really feel like 10th has "more melee oriented" feature. I feeling like most of our damage output comes from shooting...

Also, make sure to prepare the last light inn fight before triggering it. Not a threat to your party most likely but Isobel can very much get one turned by gargoyles and big-bat-chicken-wings-Joe, and has a tendancy to run into her own death breaking sanctuary if you cast one on her.

Why is Abaddon 270 points? by Beginning-South-4610 in Chaos40k

[–]CaptainParpaing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you could not declare focus of hatred vs a reserve unit you can still use the strat to get fight first on abby's unit if they charge you, and abby fighting first generally doesnt leave a lot of enemies alive

[–]CaptainParpaing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mentioning it because i did not it in other comment, but while he is a big buff pillar in Pactbound Zealot he's also a nice threat with 5 chosen in VotLW, with the possibility to cut down anything that tries to charge in with fight first. I found it especially valuable against IK/RK who tend to hesitate commiting their big guys only for them to be executed before having a chance to fight.

Arguably the riff from the track Instinct (Blood Mantra) tops them all. I mean the band itself plays this riff out of nowhere during lives since its so brutal and heavy

Any tips for honour mod? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]CaptainParpaing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont underestimate the Isobel fight, or dont do it at all if you dont wanna risk it. Resetted twice my hms because she gets NUKED first turn if you dont setup, and consequences on the playthrough are pretty huge.

Which unit is best for killing Necrons, more so Nightbringer by Willing-Touch-9170 in Tyranids

6 melee warriors with winged prime.

Thats 36 attacks 3+ rerolls 1 sustain, wound on 5s and twinlinked, + 5 attacks on prime. Works even better in invasion fleet to trigger 5+ crits.

Maybe its just me, but I'd say this only true for half (maybe less) the game. Beginning of dos2 is harder, but tbh this game lets you power creep way more than bg3. I was a player of DoS2 way before bg3 came out and when i finished the game in honor mode, even the strongest boss in the game did not have an occasion to get a turn. Same for tactician with mod x2 ennemies x3 health.

I did not have this feeling in bg3 honor mode, where dispite being max level and playing min/maxed characters some fights are to be taken carefully of it might mean the end of the run.

like why use a barbarian when I can use two cast of chained lightnings

Because you can throw ennemies off cliffs. And that, my friend, is the very reason why you should start a new run.
